Tonight I will be reviewing a Nat Sherman "The Host Selection" Harrington (6x48). This has Honduran long filler and a Connecticut shade wrapper.

The construction on this stick was fair. For the most part, it was springy, but there were several hard spots. The foot was evenly bunched. The wrapper had only one noticeable vein that appeared to have shrunk and wrinkle the wrapper a touch.

The pre-light smell was a pleasant sweet hay and tobacco.

I punched it with my sharpened 7.62x.25 pistol cartridge, and the draw was easy with hints of light tobacco.

This cigar started out bland with only light tobacco and hints of light roast coffee. The smoke did not linger on the palate, but dissipated rather quickly.

Right off the bat a touch of bitterness appeared at the tip of my tongue, so I opened up my hole with my spent .45 auto cutter. This helped the bitterness, but caused the draw to be even easier.

The smoke was mild and flavorless. Not complex at all. Sometimes an odd metallic flavor would show up and make my metal fillings tingle.

There also seems to be a sweet taste on my lips, almost like the tip had been dipped in a light syrup.

A faster draw increases the flavor some, but it is all still just tobacco.

The ash fell around two inches, and it had just started sprinkling rain. So, I set it down and went inside.

All in all I was not impressed at all with this cigar. It seemed bland, and the metallic taste threw me for a loop.

Ah well, at least I'm trying new sticks...

I've only had one Nat Sherman cigar, and that was about 5 years ago. It was so vile, I'll never try another. Unfortunately, some people have to learn the hard way.

Couldn't agree more - not an offensive smoke, but not much to keep my attention. I'll save my other 4 sticks for unwelcome house guests around the holidays...
