Alright guys, after much reading about Tats I really wanted to try some!
Went to my local B&M to see what they stock up.
I really wanted to try some of those El triumfador... But they were out...
Okok, there were a post talking about the Noella and the Regios Reserva saying that it is the same blend that is found in the Franks, Since I really wanted to smoke a Frank but never could find one, I decided to give the Noella a go, not too bad 8 bucks per stick (only go one since it didn't have a cello on the gar)
Not a bad some but did not live up to expectation the smoke was strong and deep but not very complex, I sure hope the Franks do not taste like the Noella...
And on my way out I saw that cheapo white label P2... for only 4.5! so I grabbed a couple. MISTAKE! the P2 taste like one of those Thompson crap sticks!
I am sooo pissed right now!
I sure hope that my future Tats would be a hell of a lot better =(

Feel better now lol

Try some Panacea, red label especially. You won't be disappointed, it rivals some of the big name cigars out there.

Those Tat Noella Reserva are fantastic smokes to my palate. Just the regular Noella is an excellent cigar IMO. Right Bill? :D

Whoa...I thought cigars would make a man relax more, not wind him up. :)
Maybe you put too much expectation in what others rate a cigar at. Just my .02 cents.

I won't compare the P Series with Noella's and Regio's as they are waaaay different smokes. I have a box of the P1's just for times I want a short filler smoke (you won't have a run issue on the burn).

I have learned this Gahau, your emotional state can affect the taste of a cigar.

Wait a while and try the brand again, you may be surprised.

I will definitely give some more a go before placing final judgement =)

Wait... I might have gotten some plain Noella and not the Reserva... dang my local B&M tricked me lol

I've always liked the Noellas but the P2 series has never been worth much...........probably why they are discontinued. ;)

I'm not a big fan of the red labels. My favorites (which I keep stocked in my humi) include:

Regios
Reserva J21
Cojonu 2003
Unicos

I also really like the Cabaiguan Guapos. However, as I'm sure you know, not everyone likes the same thing. Perhaps tats aren't for you.

Nah I am not that pissed lol
I was just majorly disappointed... I mean when the brand Tats come up on this forum all I can read is magnificent, delicious, beautiful etc etc so I got exited...
I agree with you the P2 is a totally separate entity, but IMO I will not even smoke these as my every day cheap cigar... They just don't taste right IMHO.
BUT I will not cast a set judgment on the cigars, I just didn't like it at that time of the day =)
Probably will revisit latter it just that I do not feel the rush to go get a box =)

Well I will definitely take on every ones advices and try some more!
I don't think I can like or dislike a brand b/c I had 2 bad one (the Noella was ok but for $8 I was looking for a more complex profile)

I don't care for the Noella Reserva's but the Noella's are my favorite smoke right now. I like the Noella's better than Tat Black's. The Regios are my second favorite. The Frank was an OK smoke but didn't blow me away. The white and red label's I don't really care for either. Just because you hear great thing's from other people doesn't mean that you will like a certain cigar. Everyone's taste is different.

P.S. Greg the Reserva's suck. ;)

Oh trust me, I know EXACTLY what you mean! The "Big 3" NC cigar brand favorites on this site are Fuente, Padron, and Tatuaje. I tried a Tatuaje when I first joined, and was coming into it with all kinds of anticipation based on the fact that everyone here loves them. When I smoked it, and pretty much every Tatuaje I've ever smoked, tastes like crap to me.

I finally smoked some a Tat Black and some Reservas that are out of this world, but that's the only Tatuaje's I care to smoke... I have to say give yourself a couple months, re-visit them, and if you still don't like them, hell...more money for other cigars!!

The only Tat's that enjoy are the Reserva's. Though I wasn't overly impressed with the Cojonu 2003 by any means. I acquired another Black at a recent herf, that I need to try. I smoked one...wasn't thrilled, and every time I've happened upon another, I usually send it to somebody else looking for one. This one, I'm smoking. :D

My first Tatuaje was lack-luster to say the least. Just wasn't what I was expecting. The Especiales I had the other night was grand though!!

I'm still waiting the opportunity to arise for me to try a Noella Reserva, Frank, Black, and Pork Chop.

I've fast become a Tat whore, Pepin rolls some damn good cigars. Try some of his other stuff too, like his line in his name or the 5 Vegas. I had a San Cristobal the other day, it was pretty damn good though the price point may be a turn off to you.

Seriously, I would stick to a few sticks you know you like for a bit, until you get used to smoking a cigar. Learn to enjoy it, and once you start to figure it out, start trying new things slowly. Honestly, I would say you should try the Tatuajes again later down the road, I bet you find yourself liking them.

Jon, answer yer damn PM's! Slug! :D

My first Tat was a Regios. I was excited to find one at CI when I was passing through PA. I also picked up a Taino that day back in December, but have yet to smoke it. I have to say that I was not too impressed with the Regio. While it was a good cigar, it just did not live up to my expectations as I have had many cigars I have enjoyed more. I didn't really understand all the excitement surrounding this brand. A few months ago, I stopped by a B&M I frequent in NYC after thunderstorm plagued trip back from D.C. I saw the Tat Noella Reserva, at what I though was a reasonable price ($9). I decided to give it a try, and boy was I happy it did. First of all the feel of the Noella in my hand was perfect, and the cigar was outstanding. In my opinon the Reserva blows the standard brown labels away. Since then I have smoked several Noella and Regio Reservas, and have not been disappointed.

Expectations and anticipation all lead to a lousy experience.

Doc.

Okok, I will go run to my B&M and request a Reserva lol
So according to you the regular Noella was nothing like the Reserva Noella?
I will give it a go... And this time I will not go with high expectation =)
Maybe I will be surprised and got a awesome experience... Hopefully

Doc.

Same thing I tell my wife every time we have 'date night'

LOL!
Well I guess Its better to be surprised then to be disappointed!
Go with low expectation and the worst case scenario I will be surprised???
Nice philosophy I should try that more often =)

Good luck finding the Noella Reserva or Regios Reserva. They were a limited one time release back in February and are probably all but gone.

Some of the retailers here may still have them or keep an eye on the BST forum they are popping up there randomly.
