Hello,

I've had the beads in there for about 2 weeks now but cant seem to get it to the desired level of 65%
Its holding still at 74% with about 10 stick in there. Any suggestions
Ill be going on vacation in about a week and Id like to bring a fair amount of sticks with me.
If its still 74% in a week should I just say Fuck it and put them in there anyway?

Thank in advance ,
Justin

Did you dry out the beads completely before putting them in? I use a hair-dryer on the beads and dry them completely out when I need to sink the humidity in a humidor fast.

I've found that the Boveda 65% packets work best in a travel humidor, although, I can think of any reason why the beads wouldn't work as well.

How long are you going to be away? If it's just a few days, you'll be just fine with no humidification whatsoever. Just breath a little breath into the airtight container every other time you pull out a stick and you'll be fine. Believe me when I say you're more likely to enjoy a slightly underhumidified cigar than a badly overhumidified cigar.

Alternatively, if you can get to a cigar shop, see if you can get one of those humidipacks that come in the Fuente boxes. Buy a stick or two then ask for one from a new box. Sometimes, they keep a pile of these somewhere and hand them out to people who ask for one.
