Didnt take me long. While I was overseas for a year the old fridge decided to die so I wanted to make a new kegerator. Controlling it with a love controller and can fit 6 kegs in there with storage room on the compressor hump.

I will attach more pics as I start to install the kegging lines.

Nice! Once I get my other 100 projects done I'm planning on moving out of my side-by-side into a keezer.

I hade a kegerator made from a fridge and freezer (not side-by-side) and I hated it because it limited the room and it was hard to get to the kegs. A side-by-side would be easier to get to the keg posts at least, but I hate the 2-3 keg limitation.

I can fit 4 in mine with the co2 tank on the shelf and room to cold crash one carboy, but they're a bitch to get to. I mostly just want to switch to a keezer so I can do a tower on top of my bar, but finishing the manroom and going electric are ahead of it on the priority list.

Excellent chest you got there. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Ok here is some more pics of the completed project.

Freezer is a 15cu ft I got off craigslist for $75

Yes I did a collar out of red oak 1x6's (took 14' of board)

I have 2 taps in right now, but going to 4 very soon. I'm not going to put anymore because I'd like to be able to stick at least 2 carboys into it for lagering. I just have standard faucets and I may upgrade to perlicks one day.

Just a pic with the completed collar on it.

Installed taps and love controller (I eventually want to cut a piece out of the collar to place the love controller but didnt have the tools to do this just yet.

Love controller working perfectly.

2 Kegs installed at the moment. Co2 tank on the side with a 4 way splitter. The bag is all of my hops (around 10#) and the probe for the love controller is in a gallon juice jug to help with the temp swings.

Still have some cleaning up to do to make it look pretty but I can serve cold beer so I'm done until after my wedding (this weekend)

That's a sweet setup. I thought about doing a conversion on the fridge in my basement, but never ended up doing. Once you are done, with 4 brews on tap you won't ever have reason to leave the house. Looking good so far though!

I had a fridge setup but it was a pain to move kegs in and out. Plus connecting and disconnecting the lines was a pain because there isnt much room for your hand in there. I like this because I can open the freezer and have plenty of room to do whatever.
