Hello Brothers & Sisters,
Last summer I purchased an Amish pie safe for a couple of Benji's.

My intention was to build a bigger humidor. My current unit was becoming too small fast, I know a common problem. So I was going to work on it over the winter and get it done slowly. However, life got in the way and I was not able to even get any motivation once I was able to work on it. So along comes a friend and he is out of work. I had seen his woodworking ability as he made all the fixtures at a local fly shop, so I knew he had talent. So this is what he what he did for me.

I love it, 8 drawers of awesomeness. I have never had this much room before, and I can tell you it feels kind of good and bad at the same time. The entire thing is made out of Spanish Cedar or Honduran Mahogany. I love the smell of this thing when I open it up. Here is what the drawers look like.

If you look at the bottom left hand corner of this picture you will see the humidor I am getting ready to sell to one lucky friend.

I need more cigars!

so im wondering how people get some many cigars (newbie question). I have a about 20-30 but no where as many to warrant a need for a humidor this big. what is the protocol? buy boxes you like and age them or buy several often and age them?

That is a nice conversion! I love having a cabinet as it makes it so much easier to keep things organized, humidified, and easy to view. Drawers and pull out shelves add to the luster.
Hope you have a blast filling it up!

Hang around hear and you will need a large humi soon. I have slowly gotten more and more sticks in my humi and it is not stopping soon.

It is amazing how quick your stock pipes up and the constant trading and buy here on CP and it just gets crazy... :D

You have heard I am sure how the slope is slippery. You will definitely upgrade your humidor within the year. There are cigars you will smoke that will blow you away. Purchase some of those from your local B & M or from one of the fine vendors on this site. Store the boxes and smoke your fav's all the time.

Nice Humi! Any thoughts on maybe installing an Avallo system?
Never heard of teh Avallo, what is it?

I bought a Cigar Oasis II XL. It seems to be working really well. I don't like the fact that it has the foam though.

I used to wonder the same thing. After over a decade in the hobby, I find myself with a nice inventory of cigars. I am a regular old middle class wage earner so you certainly don't have to be be all that well off. The tortoise wins always the race.
