My New Freezer-Dor

I finally got my freezerdor that I have talked about getting. I thought it would eliminate all of the coolers that I have in the guest shower but, no, I still have 2 large coolers in there that are full.

I went and bought a 20 cu ft "scratch and dent" freezer, not frost free, the other day and had it delivered to my new somking room that I am working on. I used one of these to regulate the tempurature and am using a Cigar Oasis II and a few jars of beads to keep the RH in check.

I filled it full of my premiums and ISOMs that I want to age. I would love to show a pic of it but I have taken so much slack for the "Look at Me" cigar porn posts that I have made in the past that I am hesitant to show it off. It is pretty full and even the doors are full. Would make a nice cigar porn pic.

I sat back with a nice aged Cohiba with the door of it open and smoked and admired my collection that has been hidden away in coolers for so long.

I think that this set up is going to work just great and I will keep you posted on how it works out.

Sounds great atuck, how big is the freezer?

Hey there!
Please pm me the photos of that amazing freezer. I'm dying to see it and hear much more about the temperature regulator. If that regulator works well, I'm wondering if it would work in my new humidor cabinet from Cheap Humidors.

Darren

It wouldnt't work at all I'm afarid. It needs some sort of built in refrigeration, like that in a fridge or freezer.

I would love to see this as well. I am not sure why Wombat does not think it will work though...

What Atuck showed is strictly a controller, there is no refrigeration source to cool a unit without refridgeration. The controller uses the existing cooling unit and controls the temperature by turning the power on and off.

Come on Atuck, show us some pics...
I know the flack you got for some of your pervious cigar porn posts and it was way off base.

Appologies to Atuk for the threadjack...

True, but it could be used to control something like this Peltier Device powered by this Power Supply add a relay or two, and a couple of fans, and there you go. Cooling unit for your humi.

I am working on putting this together for my cabinet, different control method, but the parts above are what i am going to use.

Come on show us the PORN!

I'd really like to see this setup, has the temp regulator been working well?
Was it difficult to find a non-frost-free freezer? Seems like most of the ones I've seen are all frost-free...

I used to have a system like that for my PC back when I overclocked... I'm interested in how well it works, since I still have all the parts laying around here somewhere.

atuck, how did you arrange the oasis and beads in your freezer-dor? Did you use spanish cedar or just the boxes?

LOL yeah I didn't see that at 6am and before my first coffee :p

Just show us the damn pictures. Those that dont want to see can close their eyes.

The RH has only been staying at about 60 - 62%, probably because I keep opening it up but this morning when I opened it up it was at 69%. The temp regulator is set at 69 degrees so it probably wont even kick the freezer on until it warms up a bit, the temp has been staying at about 66 in the freezer now. The room it is in is cooler than 69.
