Here is what I am working with:

Currently getting it seasoned, calibrated, etc. etc.

I also have to say I love this place so far. I know I am as green as green can be but I love the respect that is self imposed in these forums. I absolutely love the cigar porn as well. I kinda feel like I'm sitting within ear shot of my Dad's friends. I'm not 100% sure what they are saying but I can pick up just enough bits of wisdom.

I love the posts that enable me to find 'the right way' to do things. I love that there are posts regarding the right and wrong motivations for sending someone free cigars. lol. I honestly thought the post was about politics and evaluating war (Why We Bomb?). I had already read the no politcs clause so I should have known better.

PS I originally was going to post this in the previous thread regarding humidors but figured I went on a bit of a rant at the end and didn't want to Jack someone's Forum. So if I misstepped let me know and I can try to rectify it.

Glad to hear Wisco! Welcome to the Slippery Slope... Depending on your enthusiasm, that humidor should last you a week! :sign:

Well, it's not the traditional intro, but it seems like you'll fit in here well at CP! Welcome aboard. That is a nice humi, but you'll have many members here tell you that's way too small!

I would love nothing more than to someday have to convert an extra cooler into a coolador. For now it should do the trick. I know its nothing special but it's kinda like your first car. It may not be the best but you sure think so. I'll have to take some more pics after the first newbie trade goes through and theres a few sticks in the box. Thanks for all the warm welcomes.

Congrats on the humi. I started with a humidor about that size as well. In a few months I purchased another 3x that size, and then in another few months I purchased another humidor 2x the size of the second. Currently these humidors are all just about full. Will need to look into another. Did I mention this is all in the span of about 2 years.

Welcome Brent and enjoy this site.

I'm only here two months and I can tell you, these folks will show you how to sin like you never thought possible. :whistling:

Happy smoking.

Wisco, I'm gonna go ahead and tell you. Go ahead and get you a cooler. I was here MAYBE 4 months, and I was buying boxes. You'll start talking to vendors, and "that's all she wrote..." Go ahead and get it. $60.00 and I had a cube ready to go! You won't be sorry, I promise you!

Q is spot on with this comment. I never thought I would own a lot of cigars, or even a box, my history has always been to stop at the B&M pick up enough cigars for a few days, smoke them, and repeat. After joining CP that just went out the window, and everytime you think you've spent your budget for the day/week/month, someone else has some sale on something you either love or want to try. And that's where it starts, it then ends with box purchases because "the price is just so much better this way, and now I can age them too!" The only place I would have to disagree though is on the cooler specifically. Although, the cooler may work for you, figure out what the temperature of your room is like first, for me, it gets up to 80 degrees when nobody's home and the AC is off during the summer which was too warm for my preference, I ended up getting a wine cooler.

Good luck, and enjoy. I'm still very new here, but CP has proven to be quite the ride.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I'll let the wife know she needs to bump up the MISC. section of our budget lol. I'm sure the day will come soon where I will have more cigars than I've ever imagined. I now have the Humidor right where I want it and it is now proudly holding the 1 cigar I have right now. I was going to post a pic of the loney fellow but I thought that might be just a tad too pathetic.

Have no fear my first Newbie Exchange is arriving some time next week to keep the lonely cigar company... And being a meat salesman makes it pretty easy to make a very large cooler go missing without anyone noticing :whistling:
