my locker @ my b&m has mold on the wood door... the cigars are ok but there is mold on the door... do any of you guys have this problem? if so is there anything i should do? The guy working there said that it is normal and that all of the lockers have them, and not to be concerned about it, and it will not effect the cigars.

do any of you guys have this problem?

He reallllllllllly didn't say that - did he?

I don't have a locker - so, no I don't have that problem.

I'd get a new B&M if that's the case...and I would never get sticks in there again...it's not worth it.

Did he say it was plume? ;) If you happen to know the owner, you might want to inform him about it.

I would definitly recommend smoking that door immediatly to contain the mold!

But seriously, I don't have a locker but that sounds really fishy. What is the door made of? Maybe there is something on the door (urethane, etc) that isn't suited for high humidity conditions.

I have a locker and all the other lockers at my shop do not have any mold on them what so ever.
I would look for a new locker.

Something is seriously wrong if a locker door has mold on it! You might want to be real careful buying cigars there if the lockers are in the humidor. I'd have a full scale riot on my hands if we ever had anything like that at the Outlaw!

This is something I've never understood. From what I hear, Stores keep humidity really high so that people who are squeezing and handling stogies dont crack the wrapper. It's no wonder that they sometimes grow mold! So, that being said, I'd be really hesitant to keep any amount of cigars, for any real amount of time at a store. I have seen mold on certain stick at many retailers. I think it may be time to bite the bullet and buy a humi for home! I have mine set to 66% and it runs like a charm!

Good luck either way!

We keep ours at 70% just because we have high traffic in and out all day long! That crap is all on the retailer. Ignorance is inexcusable, mold doesn't grow if you are running the humidor properly! I have a waiting list for our lockers. We don't run the humidity high because stupid people feel the need to overly handle product. Product gets destroyed regardless of how we operate our humidor. Most companies give you credit on damaged product so a cracked wrapper isn't that large of an issue! You run the risk of mold and more damaging beetles if you run your humidifier to high. Is this a new development in the store? I would demand my money back on the locker rental and never shop there again, or at least demand to speak to someone in charge! If they know that this problem exists then they should not have any problem refunding your money! If they have mold on an open surface then they will have mold on product too!

Which store is this? Im in the area. And I cant think of any decent shope around here worth the time.. PM me if you can.

One of the B&M's in my area has it at 75% and it is always so hot in there. I refuse to shop there because of it. You are definitely right, I would think a reputable dealer would definitely handle this well. I guess when I replied I was just thinking about the one in my area. Sorry to dealers out there if I offended. I'm sure there are 100 good ones per bad one!
