So, I've only been a member of Cigarpass since late April. Shortly after becoming a member, I purchased my first desktop humidor. Shortly after that, I learned that the high temperatures here in Hawaii are not ideal for storing or aging cigars, so I purchased my first Vinotemp and ordered a couple of pounds of beads from Heartfelt, along with a large tube to keep on the top shelf. My wife didn't know about it until it showed up at the door

After a day of leaving it in the box, she warmed up to it and I ventured to open, clean, de-smell, and set it up. I should have purchased the 28 bottle, but my wife would have killed me on the spot. The 18 bottle was a decent compromise. I purchased some Opus X and WOAMs from gmiranda33, they are excellent! The rest are what I have purchased over the past couple of months. I don't often have the opportunity to enjoy a cigar while my wife is home, so what I have should last me quite a while. It's hard not to go out and purchase some of the sticks I have my eye on, though! Here are some pics of it stocked. The RH stays at around 60 right now, but I believe it's because the boxes are soaking up quite a bit of the humidity. This is the best purchase I have made for my collection, by far.

One question, my Partagas box does not close all of the way (it looks like the PSD4s have expanded a bit). Is there any harm to having the box open 1/5th of an inch or so? I am keeping them away from the back as much as I can, unfortunately the box can't fit in sideways.

I&P, no. And, BTW, nice Vino!

Quite nice just curious do you have different humidity readings from the top and the bottom of the refrigerator?

Thanks bro. I was worried about that, glad I don't have to. Vinos are awesome, I love that thing.

It didn't seem to give me different readings. I keep beads on every other shelf. There is a large tube on the top, a smaller tray in the middle (from my desktop humi), and about 2 pounds of beads in mesh bags on the bottom to provide most of the humidity. I also corked the drain and filled the basin with beads to catch any condensation and keep it in the air. It's not as large as some of the other Vinos, so I don't anticipate RH being an issue.

The tray in the middle shelf is 70% beads, and one of the bags on the bottom (about 1/2 pound) is 70% beads as well. The majority of them are 65%. I don't know if that poses a problem? I'm fine if it stays between 65% - 70% RH.

It's a good little starter. I can always give it to my wife to use for wine when I upgrade

Beautiful setup there John! Welcome to the slippery slope of cigars!

Nice Vino brother I was actually thinking about selling my cabinet locally and going to a 48 bottle dual zone Thermoelectric one..... Decisions , decisions.....

Very nice setup!

With beads throughout, IMHO your rh will be consistent
at every level.

But you should have bought the 28 bottle unit! :whistling:

Enjoy it. I luv mine!

Chemyst
