As I'm typing this tears are falling on the keys. Why? because this cigar was so good and now it has past. __ R.I.P. lil' guy.

cellophane said FUENTE FUENTE OPUS X
size ? ring ? , didn't care just happy to get an X
OH MY OH MY OH MY !
So this is what its all about? I think I may be hooked !

wrapper: flawless, smooth, a lil' reddish in color, had what looked like 3 caps

burn: perfectly even, never saw any "redhots" on wrapper, just seemed to flow into ash

ash: whiteist ash ever, when knocked off looked like fine powder

taste: DO YA HAVE TO ASK? like none I had before, smooth but bold flavor, very easy to smoke, endless flavor with no harshness, why was I thinking "sweet-rolls", was almost as if it a tasty dessert

draw: effortless, was overgiving

smoke: more than a 1972 Nova with a burnt valve, sooooo easy to take and hold, almost a fluidity ( is that a word )

This was by FAR the best cigar I've had yet. it has to be in 90+ rating

Major THANKS to ALostTexan for this one!

ps : I'll be ok, I have another in the humi too (moki)

hush, you. You didn't like the cigar, you just like Fuente's marketing hype ;)

...just kiddin'. I love these cigars as well. Enjoy 'em!

Sounds like you may have wet yourself!

You ripped that marketing hype idea off from me you big sissy :p

Beefcube, you picked a good one to start with from the Opi line. Spicey and flavorful. Try to find a xXx, also known as a Power Ranger. They're strong little buggers and are worth the hunt.

LMAO Beefcube.
I had the same experience with these cigars about a month ago.
WOW what a kicker. :0

Thanks for the review BeefCube. I am grateful to Tony Bones for sending me a Opus X... that stick is going to be my first one of this brand of bad boys.

After a good rest from the trip it is going to be a challenge to see how long I can hold off from smoking it. :D

OOOOh Kryo you are in for a treat.
Best to stay seated throughout the ride, and don't forget to eat before lighting. :D
I learned the hard way.

I too, just recently popped my OPUS X cherry.

I had my first OPUS X at Stateline. We were on our way home from Las Vegas and stopped so the kids could ride the rollercoaster and other stuff. The wife stayed with the kids, while I went to the Casino Floor. I had already had a great smoke the night before (Monty #2 ISOM) thanks to SD STACK, and thought I would try one of the OPUS Xs moki middle-manned for me.

The construction and pre-light sniff were superb. I lit that dude (FUENTE FUENTE OPUS X - ROBUSTO), and man was it smooth. Lots of smoke, lots of flavor, very white ash, an extremely uniformed burn, and the aroma had the pitbosses and the hottie waitresses asking what it was. I looked at them and very calmly said, "OPUS X of course."

It took me about 45 minutes to finish. Just about burnt my lips trying to get the last few puffs. After about 10 minutes, I took off the band and put it in my wallet (right in front of my DL).

These are specially good and I think they live up to the hype. I'm not sure about 400% over MSRP, but for the price moki got me, it was a few bucks well spent.

I still have 4 more and am just waiting for the right occasion to light the next one(maybe I'll save one or two for the Las Vegas HERF). My Brother-in-Law is into smokes, and I'm taking a couple for his B-Day in two weeks.

OPUS X is definitely on the A list (right next to that Double CheeseBurger w/ Pastrami, Ice Cold Sam Adams, BJ's while driving, and sleeping in on weekdays).

For you guys in the know..........is there another smoke that is close to the OPUS X profile (a second, bundle, or alt)?

Thanks to moki - I'm club now.

haha -- that's too funny -- snobin' it already. :) Glad you enjoyed them; fresh they usually knock people for a loop with the nicotine buzz, glad your head didn't fall on the table.

Save each one at least 6 months if you can -- you'll be able to tell how the same cigars change in flavor profile as they age. They only get better, IMHO...
