My First good humidor.

After using random cigar boxes and tupperware, a couple weeks ago I picked up my first actual humidor from Cheaphumidors.com. I also picked up 3 seasoning packs and a 2oz tube of Viper's beads. Well, everything is seasoned and the smokes are in it so I figured I would post a couple pictures. It's sitting comfortably at 65% and the temp is right around 75 degrees. I'm now looking for a cooler room or location to store it. It's obviously a little light on the cigar side of things, but that will change when the almost $300 worth of cigars that I purchased online this week come in early next week. :)

Thanks for everyone's help on the forums!!

To be honest, I don't know. I got it from their "imperfect" section for $40. Funny thing is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with it at all.

EDIT:
After looking at their site, it is indeed the Milano. They have another one up in the "imperfect" section right now for the same price.

Everybody who gets an "imperfect" humi from these guys seems to have nothing wrong with them. Perhaps it was just opened and returned so they can't sell as new??

That's a good looking humi. Be sure to post more pics when the new smokes come in!

I picked up an "imperfect" a few months back, the Ebano Dome Ebony. It was much darker than the picture but other than a few scuffs and a small dent in the lower corner it appears to be working fine. The scuffs are only noticeable from a certain angle. The description of the possible imperfections were accurate and set the right expectations.
Overall I am happy with my "imperfect" purchase.

Quick question. In one room, the humi sits at 68 degrees, in the other it sits at 75-76. Is there an ideal temp that it should be it? I've heard various different temps.

THanks again!

Go with the 68.......

Well done, Ian. That's a nice pickup and at a fantastic price. It'll give you many weeks of service...

Until you buy your first 48qt cooler. ;)

Yeah yeah yeah. I know. Thats the crazy thing I've started to learn about this hobby. I continue to buy cigars, and to be honest, I rarely smoke. I have one at each football game (while it's nice out) and maybe one more a week as it stands right now. Regardless, I want to keep buying more and more. I need to stop though for a bit, or else I'm going to be broke. Haha. Off to the Newbie Sampler thread again......

It was also my first humi, very nice looking, with not bad seal and not bad capacity (at the begining)

Unfortunatelly after few month (yes, months, not weeks ;) ) it was too small :p

That's the way it goes. It is a hobby, after all. :D

I smoke 1-2/week and have about 5-7 years worth right now. I just tell my wife that aging them is absolutely necessary to experience the full enjoyment that cigars can provide. While true with many blends, she occasionally catches me with something I just bought and I get "the look." That's when I tell her I have to compare the fresh with the aged so I can further understand the subtleties and nuances of a finely aged puro. It's about then that she rolls her eyes and just walks away.

Grrrr, it's almost full already......

With that being said I think my first bomb is due......
