Gifted to me by Jim at the Quadstate herf, I finally had the opportunity to smoke a BBF today. I've heard about that Bolivar are strong cigars in general and are not for the faint hearted. Well the confluence of nice weather, time and a feeling that spring has finally sprung gave me the courage and all the reason to light this special gift up.
Nice looking Belicoso with a fragrance that tickled my nose a little. The wrapper was a beautiful brown. After clipping the head and tasting the prelight draw, I got a hint of what was in store. Lighting was not an issue and the cigar behaved very well through out.
The first puff greeted my tongue with a peppery finish. The cigar settled for the first third with an earthy flavor and the said finish. Then the flavor mix change. The pepper disappeared and was replaced by cocoa. Earthy did not disappear but a hint of woody flavor appear in the mix. The draw was non-problematic and the smoke was full in every puff.
I finish the cigar fully satisfied that the BBF is truly a special smoke.
