Just had my first hemingway, and I must say that I REALLY like this cigar! I've had 8-5-8's before, and like them a lot, but this one is a treat. I think I'll have to look into getting some more since this was my only one. It embodies many of the characteristics that I enjoy from a cigar; medium bodied, good flavor, smooth and no strong aftertaste. I'm not sure what the name is of the one I smoked - it was perhaps 5" long (short on one end and fat on the other) and maybe 54 ring guage. The last two evenings I've had smokes that I really haven't enjoyed so this was a refreshing change! :)

I just did some checking around, I found that what I had was a Hemingway Best Seller. I like the size - good for about 45min or so (although I took my time tonight on this treat - took about and hour and 15 mintues smoking it). I was a little disappointed to see that it looks challenging to find them in stock. I'll have to do some more looking - I've got to get some more of these!!

great cigars  we get a box of these every so often,
its nice to be able to just grab one when you want it :D
but right now were out :(

give the classic a try too, a little longer but its my fav hemi

I have had the Best Seller and Short Stories. Both are great cigars.
They are hard to find localy, but if you look around you can find them on-line at close to MSRP.

a little birdy ;) directed me to where I can get some singles for about $5.80 a stick - I might get a handful since they have them in stock. However, I still want to do some more looking around to see if I can get them cheaper.

Cheaper by the box here
stick price is the same...

I personally like the signature size and those seem to be available frequently. IMO Hemingways are always a good consistant smoke.

Had my first short stories in Sept. and really liked it

I've always wanted to try the "Between the Lines" but any cigar priced at $30+ seems to always turn my common-sense alarm on high alert.

One of these days though...

My first Hemingway was the cigar that hooked me.
The one that really got me into cigars.

I personally like the Classic best.
Just a good size for me, I guess.

Yeah, that was the source that my little birdy told me about. Buying by the box is awfully tempting since shipping is free and it brings the per stick price down to just over 5 bucks, but I really don't want to spend that much moola right now. Hey, if anyone is interested in splitting a box with me, just let me know. Perhaps I'll inquire in the buy/sell/trade forum and see if I can get any takers.

I'll toss my vote in on the Signature. Just the right size, and smoooth, all the way to the nub. Of course, that's only having smoked two of them. This calls for more research!
I've only had one of the short storys, and I wasn't as impressed with it, but it could have just been me. It was still a nice smoke, just not as impressive as the Signature.

I've never tried the short story (although by pictures I've seen, it appears to be just like the Best Seller, just slightly smaller - 1/2" shorter and slightly smaller ring gauge). What I've heard is that the short story tends to smoke a little hot (due to the size) which is why some prefer the Best Seller or of course, the signature or Classic. Those of you who have smoked 'em all - is this accurate?

My favorite Hemi so far is the WOAM. I have only smoked one as they seem to be pretty hard to find.

I have smoked the Short Story and Best Seller. I find the taste profile to be about the same between these cigars.
I prefer the Best Seller because I can smoke it longer. :p
The only reason the Short Stories get a little hot is because I tend to burn my fingers (and sometimes my mustache) smoking them.
They are really good and I always nub them.

Hey BMD,

Was that bomb that I received today compliments of you? There wasn't any info in the box, but I did some detective work to try and figure out who it came from (and it looks like it might be you). Let me know :)

The Best Seller rocks. Don't even get started on the Maduro versions of Hemingways or you'll almost always be in search of. Very addictive. :)

Brett, YOU THE MAN!!!

Thanks, I can't wait to have my second hemingway!! The others that you included, are interesting - I've never tried them, so I look forward to it! Thanks again!!

Man, talk about milking a cigar! I'm enjoying a short story that Brett sent me and I'm now an hour into it, and still have about a 1/3 to go. It also helps that I'm trying to digest an incredibly difficult and hard to understand research paper while I'm smoking :)

Although I definitely prefer the slightly larger size of the Best Seller, this little guy is still VERY nice!
