Well, even with FSU losing in the first round to number 12 ranked Wisconsin, my day didn't turn out horrible! I ordered my Vinotemp a few days ago and didn't expect it until the end of next week, but those folks over at Amazon/Target had it delivered today! I opened it up to find horrible packing, and due to that a fairly large dent on the top as well as a broken part in the back, but they both look to be just cosmetic so I'm not overly worried about either. I've plugged the Vinotemp in and turned down the temperature to ensure it cools well and works. So far the temperature has been dropping about 1 degree every 5 minutes so looks like all is well so far :D I've already had my beads and new digital hygros so once I ensure the unit actually works, I will be cleaning it out and throwing in the beads. My intentions are to get Mtmouse to build some shelves for it, but for now I'll just enjoy it for what it is and look forward to throwing my first box purchases in it which should be sometime next week.

A few of the initial pictures.

Very nice. If it does end up working properly you should at least try to get a discount for the damage. :(

Let me guess, F'ed Ex? Try using a plunger to pull the dent. Super glue from the hobby shop(Not the cheap crap from Safeway) and baking soda to fix a weld.

I might try to contact them to get some sort of a discount, but to be honest I'm not worried about it at all. My 50 Ct. Humidor is going on top of the Vinotemp and the back will be to the wall so neither of the blemishes will be seen. And it was UPS that sent it, but to be honest the packaging was horrible so I wont put too much blame on UPS. The Vinotemp was inside a cardboard box that only had a few pieces of styrofoam so there wasn't much to protect it from the elements of shipping. Ehh well, it works so I'm happy. I'm just excited to fill her up! Since this is the 21 ct I plan to do a step by step when I get it set up just in case anybody else decides to get this model as well.

My .02 is someone should be notified, my thought is that its unacceptable. Someone needs to be held acountable.

As anal as I am about my things, that vino would be unacceptable! I would talk to someone about the damage, and get a discount or a replacement. I couldn't handle looking at that everyday, it would drive me nuts!

Vinotemp packaging is HORRIBLE. I had to take several back to Target before I finally found two that weren't damaged. I ended up opening the boxes at the store to make sure they were ok before lugging them back home.

I was considering ordering the same unit. How much do the shelves usually come out to be? I am trying to see if the whole set up will be in my price range.

Wow... I am so excited about my desktop humi. I don't know what I would do with something like that.

Awesome man!

Oh by the way. In business law class tonight we were talking about buyers rights. They legally have to replace it or repay you no matter what they tell you there warranty covers as long as it is within a reasonable time.

Thought I would through that out there just in case. Some practical stuff you learn in that class, lol.

Congrats either way!
