So I have been waiting to review this spice bomb for some time and I was not disappointed. CAO has come out with a few of the x2 cigars over the years. The Cx2 is the Cameroon x 2, the Mx2 is the Maduro x2 One of my favorite smokes. And now the Lx2 Ligero times two. The ligero leaf is taken from the very top of the tobacco plant, and it contains the greatest amount of nicotine, sugar, and spice. This is what gives most cigars its flavor and the more ligero leaf you have the more bold the cigar is.
The breakdown
Size: Belicoso (6.5" x 52)
Wrapper: Nicaragua
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Dominican Republic and Nicaraguan Ligero
The appearance: From the start this cigar looks good Dark and oily wrapper. The smell was surprisingly not as bold as I thought it would be it came of with a slight salty smell. There were a few visible veins. And the foot as you can see looked very well packed.
First Half: This cigar lit up great burn started out nice and even. Flavor of the first half was very spicy but there was an underlying sweet flavor that would come though. I would defiantly call it a full bodied cigar at this point. Buy the end of the first half I could start to feel the nicotine kicking in.
Second Half: Surprisingly this cigar mellowed out a bit in the second half with more a sweetness coming though with some cinnamon scent to the smoke very enjoyable! The burn was a bit of an annoyance it would burn uneven and needed a little correction from the torch. But never to the point I had to put it down.
Conclusion: This is a great cigar if you are in the mood for a big bold bite of a cigar. This is not one you wanna smoke on an empty stomach this would be a great smoke after a big steak dinner. Price wise this is a bit more then the other CAO cigars on the market but I feel it has to do more with supply and demand at this point but they are readable available online and in most cigar stores. Enjoy! rp
