My Aunt is having Heart Surgery

My aunt is getting a "stint" (don't know if I spelled that right or not) and I don't know too much about these types of things, so thought I'd ask and see if anyones' had one and for good thoughts and prayers.

A stint, as I understand it, is a device they put into a clogged bloodline to open it up. I wish I could say it was a routine kind of thing, but there is always risk when dealing with the heart and major arteries. I'm sure some others on the bhoard have more insights.

No worries. My father had 2 put in last year. He is now 100% and is in the best shape of his life. And his artiries are now flowing better.. and the part of his heart that was damged by his heart attack has mysteriously repaired itself.. The miracle of the human body!! and prayer.

My prayers are with your aunt. It's a stent a stint you do in the joint, if you know what I mean. It should be a rather simple procedure as they do thousands a day in this country. Again, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Not to minimize the gravity of heart surgery, but these procedures have become fairly routine by comparison. My uncle has had stents 3 times and one quadruple bypass. The stents are much lower risk than the bypass and the recovery time is much shorter.

I will keep your family in my prayers because I know this is a tough time. Optimisim and high spirits are the key!

Stints are very rutine these days. My mother in law has had 3 in the past 6 months and has been out of the hospital the very next day after everyone.

The weird thing is, she was completely healthy until she had her second son 8 years ago. the first son is now pushing 30 and the second son is pushing 10! lol. She was in her lower fortys when she had her second.
