A new paint job was released today on one of our jets. It is part of the partnership between the airline, Disney, and the Make a Wish Foundation.

Nice paint job, I have a friend who flies for Alaska Air

I read an article one time that talked about how much added weight a paint job adds to the plane. I could be off but I thought it was like 2000 lbs and added like a million dollars in fuel over the course of a year.

Bilder probably can confirm or deny this as I do not know it to be factual.

Depending on the paint job, it does take a couple thousand pounds to get it done.

Not sure of the cost of the weight over a year.

As to the cost for this paint job, I am not sure. Disney paid for the paint job as it is a great marketing tool for them. This is the third aircraft to sport Disney characters. Our others have Tinkerbell and Mickey and the gang on them.

The employee website has some more photos and a time lapse video of the painting of the jet. http://www.alaskasworld.com/

Very nice, I really enjoy Alaska Air. I make the Denver/Seattle trip about once a month and try to fly with them whenever I can. It is always a pleasant flight which is far better then the typical united delayed overbooked nightmare.

I love those paint jobs! They certainly lighten up the airport.

Too bad Mickey is running the airline LMAO. Seriously, I have some good friends flying as attendents for Alaska. They always make your flight special!

The other day Boeing had an AWACS out on a run over south Seattle with a chase plane in tow I am sure taking new marketing photos ;)

Um... what's that on this picture/photo Burnt?
Is it some kind of freakin abstraction painting? because I cant see there anything more. ???
