I hooked a under counter light with velcro in my Tower of power to see how it would work- My 6 yr. old turned on the light switch- The light fell on my cigars and started them smoking!! :( -When I caught it some had really burned thru-Anyway after a couple of days of airing out ,spraying with febreeze(?) and running my Czonka through it- it still smells like a fire-that burnt smoke smell- Any ideas how to get rid of the smoke smell??- thanks gary

Just sand the inside of Tower a bit, it'll hopefully sand away the stinky part of the wood and leave fresh smelling cedar.

It's ok bro, we all make mistakes, but to blame it on the kid is pretty low  :sign: :p

When you get rid of the stink consider one of those rope lights like they sell around Christmas time. Way less heat and potential for incineration.

...spraying with febreeze(?)

Febreeze in a humi?
Tell me why baby, why baby, why baby why? ???

:0 I'd rather have the burnt smell to be honest... unless of course the OP likes ACIDS lol

Move all the cigars to a tupperdor and leave the door open for a few days. You'll have to re-season it but its better than having chemical crap on your sticks.

I did this with my humi a few years ago. Here’s a pic from 2002. The only problem you'll have is notching the shelves to get the rope light around the inside perimeter

That looks really nice AVB, those rope lights sure are bright.

They also make them in colors. The other option if you don't want to notch everything is LED lights, you could a larger one on each shelf - cigars look really neat when lighted by the blue-ish-ness of the LEDs.

sounds like who ever installed the light was the cause of the fire, not the 6yr. old :whistling:
as stated earlier, sand the inside of the cabinet, that should get rid of the offending ordor, and stick with low voltage stuff next time.

Rob- You are 100% correct!!!
I am going to sand the inside this weekend and probably have my 6 yr. old install the lights!!
