Again, I apologize for the poor judgment earlier.

I want to try and make-it up to everyone, what can I do?
Donate to Cigar Pass herf?
Donate to a Cigar Pass charity?
1st 25 guys a free cigar? . . . What do you think my penance should be?

About me:

My name is Joe, I own a small retail store in Slippery Rock Pa. I’m working on opening a new site: Cigar America.net,. Thanks to some of your input I still have a lot of work to do.

I’m very serious about customer service, being so small every customer is VERY important to me. I’ll never claim to be perfect but if in a rare occasion there is a problem I will make it right.

I appreciate any suggestions or input you may have.

Thank you,
Joe

I suggest read more on how things work here.
Make a proper introduction and follow the rules.

Look at how other retailers work here.

Things will turn around.

Free cigars are good... :whistling: :whistling: :sign:

Welcome to CP, Joe. I wish you success in your new venture. Look around the Retailer forum. We have a lot of great retailers here. I would start to name them, but inevitably forget someone and feel bad about it. In my opinion, the best retailers we have are the guys who not only post on behalf of their store in this forum, but those who share their knowledge with us as well.

Look around the other forums, and answer a question or chime in with an opinion if you can. I know that since you own your own business, you might not be able to "hang out" on the forum socially, but a post here and there sharing your experiences goes a long way, in my opinion, into making you one of "us," and not just a retailer.

Hey Joe. Stick around and do some reading. See what the community is all about. There's a ton of good info and good things around here.

As for your penance :D I don't think you have to do anything. Maybe find a random member that says something you find useful or one of the other new guys and send 'em a random pack of smokes.

No need to try to buy the stairway, Joe.

Reread that initial thread and look for stuff that we "rang the alarm" about. Anonymous web site would be my #1. I DO NOT buy from a site with no clear and tangible 'Contact Us' link. No address and no phone number says to me that you won't stand by a sale.

If you're really interested in being a member of the best cigar community on the net, what you need to do is follow the often repeated mantra "Read more....post less". This board vigorously protects its members and as such, has a lot more scrutiny of folks than most boards do. The community is very effective about catching the scammers and con guys, but sometimes a "good guy" gets caught up in it. You don't have to "buy" your way into the group but spending a little time to get the "feel" of the board, and seeing what is and isn't acceptable will go a long way. This is a community; treat it as such and you'll do well.

Good luck - B.B.S.

Bruce is exactly right! I actually went to your site before you ever posted here. After checking out your inventory I had decided to make a purchase. I then proceeded to try and find a contact link on you and could find nothing. No info at all. At that point I decided not to make a purchase. Good advice to add that link.

...Gary

edit...can't spell!

I will have to stop in on my next trip to Pittsburgh. Haven't checked out your website yet. What are your hours of operation?

Welcome to CP!

Your apology seems valid to me.

The simple "MY BAD" without the "BUT,BUT,BUT" inserted works for me

Welcome in and enjoy this place. It's special here

Gtadroptop

Slippery Rock is about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh.

The Store hours are Monday and Friday 9am to 9pm, Tues, Wed, Thur & Sat 9am to 5pm

If your coming for a visit, drop me an email or call. If its after hours and the Boss (wifey) doesn't have plans for me I can stick around which I quite often do anyways.

Hope to see
Joe

Can't ever go wrong with free cigars though. :whistling:

...yeah, but I think most of us don't want it to appear that it's a "requirement" for acceptance, nor that free stuff is all it takes to erase a mistake.

Nice, sure.....required, not even remotely.

One guy's opinion - B.B.S.

I agree.
You don't have to buy your way into this community. Just contribute opinion, information, knowledge and humor mate.

Edited to add... (and the odd cigar girl would be nice).

Hey,
I've purchased from your store in the past, Slippery Rock Cigars. I got a few lighters and a couple sticks. Just wanted to let ya know I enjoyed doing business with you, and would again if I saw a deal that caught my attention. Just become active in the CP community and try to earn respect. No free stuff necessary. Enjoy your stay here, it looks like you are on the right track!
