SO, I have two Barrister humidors up and running right now, with a pound of beads in each. I've ntoiced that there seems to be a deiscernable difference in humidity in different areas of the box though.
Do the little oust fans really move enough air to be useful? Do they generate enough heat to be a concern...what about diring the summer where I am borderline concerned anyway? Does the battery really last a few months?

Other than that, what are some options?
I do not have any plugs where the humis are, and can't really move them to anywhere with plugs.

thanks fellas.

I use one of the small Oust Fans in my cooler. I noticed that the RH was not level at the top and the bottom. I have not noticed any difference in the temp. The fans setting is to go on for 1 minute and off for 5 minutes..... or vice versa, I'm not sure.

You don't even know they are on.

I feed my humidifiers beans. The air seems to move quite well after a few minutes. :)

I’m setting mine up with 4 fans around the inside perimeter of the humi to provide and circular fashioned air flow. I’ve seen computers setup in a similar way and seems to keep the air at a constant dissipation of heat, im hoping it will do the same for humidity.

Does anyone have a favorite place (internet wise) whereby one can get one of these Oust fans?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Darren

a lawyer with a Barrister humidor and humi beans? Rod, you need to move the thread to Jokes!

Ok, I just came home today with 2 Oust fans for my 150qt coolerdor.
I turned the fans on and I can barely feel any air moving from the small fan.

I put both in the cooler but it seems like such a slow revolution.

I wonder if they are gonna help at all. For their intended purpose, the fan speed is slow for 2 reasons....1)to keep quiet and 2)so that the scent seeps out slowly.

Any thoughts?? besides the fact that Im a bit anal :p

CigarBarr-

The oust fans come on for five minutes and then off fir fifteen.

While you dont feel a strong breeze when you put your hand up to it...it is moving the air. Especailly in an enclosed area.

You only need to thme to move the air for a bit and they do a better job then you think.

I think you will be fine.

Relax, have a smoke

I agree with Cigar Al. You should be fine, it will move plenty of air to circulate the humidity.

I use one in each of my coolerdors, they are awesome. I placed mine infront of the beads to circulate the moisture better.

Hey Mark - didnt realize you from MA. Was kind of distracted by your coolidor and sig tag....dam she is mezmorizing....

Looks like you need some help breaking the seals on a few of those boxes.....

Al

I have a large cabinet and the humidity level is different in the top, middle and bottom levels. I have never used a fan to move air and my cigars are fine. You guys are getting a little to anal about this stuff. They are cigars, they are not that fragile, trust me. lol
