As I mentioned in this thread, I was able to track down a few of the elusive Moontrance for your reading enjoyment! :sign:
I wasn't kidding when I said the lady sealed these so they wouldn't contaminate the other cigars I purchased that day.
And she really did a good job, Sommer Zigarren is close to the Munich HauptBahnhof (major train station) and well worth a visit. A large, well stocked and maintained humidor and a friendly knowledgeable staff.
The petit corona Moontrance was the only size they stocked, they also had all the other CAO flavored sticks (same size) but I wasn't going to try them.
Here is me showing the team I took the hit for... the first thing I did was wash the tip. I don't like Saccharin to begin with and if a cigar is flavored, it doesn't need it anyway IMHO.
While I was smoking it my littlest daughter came out to see what her Dad was doing...
And she took this picture of me exhaling the Pina-Colada I just happened to be smoking
Now about the Moonie, it wasn't bad. Compared to the ACID cigars Wilkey and I did reviews of, I actually enjoyed it... kinda. The only problem was with this size of cigar the taste gets overpowering quickly and then gets very bitter near the halfway point. Would I smoke another? Yes I would. but only in a larger size (Wilkey send me one please )
Interestingly enough, my wife (who enjoys wolf brothers rum crooks) took one drag and made almost the same face she makes when I suggest we should take a roll in the hay :sign:
So much for these being "cigars for women" She said there is no way in hell she would ever smoke one.
I put it out at the 1 inch mark and gave the other one to my German friend Tankred, who thinks ACID cigars are great. lol He enjoyed it, go figure.
So in closing, pick one up! You might just find that its a guilty pleasure that shouldn't be talked about in the company of your manly man friends.
Now excuse me, I need to go change my Manties.  :sign:
