Montecristo

Hello fella's! I'm considering buying some Montecristo's. Which would you suggest? No.2 or ??? Decisions, decisions... Compared to a Cohiba Esplendido how does the Montecristo measure up? Thanks, I appreciate the advice in advance.

monties are full flavour and reasonably strong fer sure.you might want to try the #3 or #4 first...mostly because i feel these come around quicker and are a real good smoke in 3 years or so.the #2's are like any other large ring cigar and require 5 or 6 or 7 years to be all they can be.

Not even close. The Esplendido blows the #2 away. I like the Monte as well but the two are very different. IMO you can't go wrong with either one. If you are set on a Monte I'd go with whichever vitola you prefer. Do you like a big torp or a smaller corona? The #2 and #4 are both nice cigars.

no question the #2 is not an Esplendido, some of the vintages, ie April '03, are different but just as good depending on your personal preference or can be just as good with some aging. They seem to vary from year to year and some years have not been notable at all. Of course this is again personal preference and I happen to be partial to the Monte flavor profile in general while the Cohiba line has a different profile they also have some fabulous cigars even excluding the Esplendido.

I went with the No.2's and an order of Cohiba Robustos. If you can't decide on one go for two. Never had the robustos yet. Thanks for the help you guys!
