I am sorry for posting a review here but this cigar deserves it.
Let me start of by saying I have never been a Montecristo fan. So this was a shock.
Well last night I had the pleasure of trying one of these babies and only one word can describe it. WOW!!!
Let me give you a little history on the cigar before my review incase you don't know. This is a vintage '97, it is the only Montecristo with a Cameroon wrapper. It uses Dominican binder with Brazilian and Dominican filler. It will be a limited quantity and in my 3 county area only 2 shops will carry it and my local is one of them. All cigars are 5" in length the sizes are: Corona Gorda 46 ring, Mini Belicoso 52 ring, Mini Churchill 48 ring, Robusto 50 ring and No.4 44 ring. Ok now for my review.
Initial glance very nicely constructed. The wrapper had a very smooth appearance with good texture in the fingers. It had a great oily shine with a cocoa powder color. Prelight smell was intense with sweet almost caramel smell. Then came the light!!! POW First thing to hit me was a sweet and spicy ness I describe as a chocolate chip cookie with a shot of whiskey. The great thing is it only got better. Its flavors became I feel more complex than a VSG not quit as powerful but for me much more fulfilling. I would consider this full bodied. It burned tight and straight. I was smoking the Corona Gorda so it did get hot at the end a little due to its size. The smell was just fantastic. I smoked this on an empty stomach and just a cup of coffee with it. I don't think my pallet was ready for it but it will be tonight. I purchased what was left of one of only 4 boxes my shop had. These will be very limited. I have to suggest if you get the chance you must try these. I hope they are as awesome for you as they were for me. Thank you for letting me ramble.
