Okay, this one's going to be short and sweet (LOL I can see SD laughing now saying "Yeah right you windbag").
Now I may be breaching some protocol here but I'm sure jolly won't mind
Jolly was nice enough to gift me this cigar, it's a Monte Canario Lonsdale, a 6 1/2 x 41, natural wrapped lonsdale size. First off, I had to put on my reading glases to even read the friggin wrapper and then even after that, I had never heard of these. After a google search, I found out that these are a mild cigar from the Canary Islands.
So, I figured jolly was playing some cruel hoax on me since he knows I like full bodied, big fat maduros so this cigar was 0 for 3!!
However, the appearance, construction & feel of this cigar just plain looked good from the get go. When I punched it, I figured I'd be sucking air through some loosely packed cigar but again I was wrong. The draw was a perfect "Havana" draw, nice and firm and the wrapper had a very pleasant taste to it. So I said, "Wow, this could be interesting..."
Sure enough, once I lit it and started smoking it, it burned beautifully and for a supposedly "mild" cigar, it had a little kick to it and for a small ring cigar, it burned very nicely and evenly, not too hot which is usually the result I get with coronas and lonsdales 'cause I smoke 'em too fast!! The wrapper had a slight peppery taste to it which I found very pleasing.
This was a very good cigar and I was pleasantly surprised and I thank thejollyco very much for putting me on to a cigar I never would have tried on my own!!
Okay, here's my cA style rating #:
