I apologize if anybody was offended by the changes i had made.

When we would sell out, i would change "in stock" to "done for now". this was done so people could know if we had the cigars. This was also done so readers would not have to read the whole thread to know if we had the smokes in stock.

as far as a "done", i did that so people would know we sold out. I deleted content saying we had them in stock. I figured it was implied via the title of the thread.

I dont want to speak for Grant, but I think so that people would understand that his stock has been sold & so his mailbox isn't flooded & people's hopes aren't crushed. (I think, again can't speak for Grant)

It's one thing to watch out for your fellow BOTL. It's another to persist in busting Grant's balls because you didn't know what was changed in his original post. As you can clearly see from the posts leading up to your first post, there was never any question/concern about Grant's prices or anything else he posted. Take that as a hint that everything was on the up and up. If there was a discussion about his prices and THEN he deleted his original post I could see cause for concern. As it is, there wasn't and there isn't.

Move on.

* contact info: Why would you be contacting me if we were sold out- you wanted to Herf??? trust me, many guys figured out how to send me a PM, call the shop (number on the website, which is in my profile), or send the shop an email.

Why would you think were shady. Were a retail tobacconist respected enough to be able to get the Monsters. Having met so many good guys through the board, i figured i would throw them up for CP only. I didnt go on any other board- i solely put this up on CP.

But you know what; plenty of individuals decided to trust us, and in two days, they will be enjoying their smokes. I have been working my *SS off to get this thing orchestrated, and i have made the smooth conduct of this deal my foremost priority. I'm sorry you think i'm shady. Your loss.

But chill out, i am not some fraud. i wanted to hook some guys up on CP, and i did it. Smoke a stogie and relax. That is what i am doing now (smoking my 3rd monster in 2 days- I Like)

I am completely surprised to see this type of response. I know this does not reflect the whole community, but there are some senior members in this argument and I am floored they didnt neutralize this a long time ago..

Believe me I am "calm" and "chill." I never accused you of being a "fraud" or "shady" or anything of the sort, If I did please show me where I did. I simply asked a question. Unfortunately, I have been busy lately and have no idea what a "Monster" was, what size a Frank was, or even who you are for that matter.

Again, my concern is to keep the information and integrity of CP intact. Since that is no longer a concern.... I am DONE....

one minute i'm shady, then i'm not, then i am again. Give it a rest. I'm sorry were sold out, but this isnt the propper way to treat another person. I know the vast majority of the guys on this board are stand up individuals. Stinkimonki introduced me to my first opus, emptying my wallet for years to come. Sanchopanza has been a great guy to hang out with, and has always amazed me with his generosity. Souldog, Grapes, Rod, Jesus Matt, beyondtheband and the rest of the socal crew i have had the pleasure of meeting have been a really great group of individuals to chill with. And all the guys i have dealt with during the Monster deal have been great to deal with, sharing and chatting about a hobby which we all obviously enjoy. and if i missed anyone, i sincerely apologize- i have never met a cp'er i didnt like.

It is my sincere hope that when the dust settles, calmer heads prevail; that and we can both act like adults; that we can remember what brought us to this forum; and that we can further the sense of community that this forum holds above all else.

I understand the "newbie pile-on" rule, and DePasta I've never had any bad interaction with you, and likewise I've never had any bad interaction with Grant. That said, a couple things:

I've herfed with Grant countless numbers of times. His boss is my good friend, StinkiMonki, and Grant works at Geoff's shop. Anytime Grant (Skisomalia) posts on the Retailer Forum, he is doing it as a representative of Azucar Cigar Lounge. ACL is owned by StinkiMonki. I'm just really floored by some of the accusations thrown about here.

Should Grant have deleted content in his OP for the sale? I don't think so. Did he mean it to deceive and be "shady" as you say? No. Was it a stupid mistake overlooked? Probably. But to go back and forth and go "all night" as you say is silly. Grant made a mistake, he recognized it, and now it's done. Are you both becoming personally invested in this argument? Yes.

I know Grant personally, I vouch for him, 42 can vouch for him. Hell, all three of us went up to Big Bear and stayed in his cabin for the weekend. Beyond the Band can vouch for him. SanchoPanza, StinkiMonki, Rod, PutzMulligan, the list can go for a while here...

Grant is NOT, I repeat NOT trying to pull one over on CP, especially as a representative of Azucar Cigar Lounge. Everytime I go to Azucar Cigar Lounge, I am greeted by Grant, he's more than helpful in cigars, he has very very fair prices, and is all around a standup guy.


Just the other week, he sold me his last set of a HTF Tatuaje cigar FROM HIS OWN PERSONAL STASH and because I'm a CP guy, he sold them to me at MSRP, not accounting for the CA taxes/markup he probably paid for them. So he took a hit in his pocket just to hook up another CP guy. I remind you, this is all off the board okay? He did not have any obligation to abide by the board rules when it was just he and I in a transaction off the board, at his lounge, shooting the breeze over some drinks. He's a standup guy nad has a spotless reputation.


For him to gouge would just be stupid, because he's not benefiting.

He's posted a few sales recently here at CP with no problems in presentation or service. He has no ill intent and it's clear that there was nothing amiss with the sale.

DePasta is an established member here at CP who asked a simple question. While it is not written anywhere in any rules, CP custom says it is improper to delete information from sale threads. Not only does that apply to the BST forum but the Retailer forum as well. End of story.

Neither one of these BOTLs need any endorsement from me, but they are both top notch.

I hope there are no lingering questions regarding Grant's integrity nor the integrity of my store. I have read and reread DePasta's posts and communicated with him via PM. Careful reading of the posts do not indicate any accusations of dishonesty. The custom of leaving the information in the original thread is one that benefits all of CP because it helps alleviate fraud. That's what I took from what DePasta posted and I agree 100%. Members first, retailers second. That's the way it should be at CP. It pays to be vigilant.

It is the way things have always been done here and is the way things will continue to be done here.

There is no need for the "Hes a stand up guy so its OK!" posts in regards to Grant or otherwise defending his mistake. He screwed up and I'm sure he learned from it and it won't happen again.

But more importantly there is no need for people to be jumping on Dan for calling him on it. Dan was looking out for ALL OF US, its how CP works.

If there was no accusation of shadyness on our part, i have nothing to argue with.

I completely agree with protecting the members of the forum; i also have no dispute with the tradition, and will comply with it in the future.

I also want to make clear that i was in no way insinuating that Depasta was not a stand up individual. If that was taken as my intent, i apologize, but i want to be clear that it wasnt. I was merely referencing my past good feelings towards CP and its members.
