hey guys, im in a bit of trouble it seems again.

I looked in my humidor this morning and was taking out the (im not sure what to call it), sponge brick, to add more water to it and i noticed a bit of mold on it. I have been using distilled water. Does this mean that my humidor is infected along with my cigars? I took the brick out and i am going to isolate it for up to a week and let it dry out. I will most likely buy another one, preferably two pucks. the stock bricks are terrible i have heard and need to be upgraded..

Toss it and get beads.

Is this the same humidor that you where just seasoning? How long have you had it?

Toss the flora brick thing and get beads or the puck.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest you toss the brick and get beads.

Until they arrive, use a wet paper towel in a bowl or open ziploc bag. You'll be fine.

Like what I read - just ordered 2 new ones from Heartfelt to replace the foam jobs in my 2 desk humidors.

If worse comes to worse go to a B&M and explain the situation. They got me a new one from Ashton but now I have the gel.

ya napa its the same humidor i was seasoning.. i purchased it from cigarextras.com.. im not sure if that was such a reliable place to buy from but my order was in perfect shape.

I followed some directions i found earlier on google for seasoning it and i think i might have gotten the cedar too wet, but there is no warping and it is still pretty dry. I got the cedar pretty wet for around 3-4 days, once or twice daily. I am replacing my hygro ASAP with a better one. i hope that it is just the stock hgro that is throwing my RH off.. i have a shot glass filled with distilled water in there right now trying to get it to maintain a solid 70%. i will order some heartfelt 70% beads soon when i get the time to do it.

You might want to consider getting some 65%'s while you're at it.

I hate the same problem, got the beads and never looked back. When you do get the beads I would recommend getting something to place them in. So when you add water it doesn't go all over you Humi, you could just do what a lot of people do and just place them in little bowls.
