Thanks to everyone for playing, just a bit slower to fill up than last year but now we are down to 4 teams open, two players probably.

I am going to go ahead and sign up for the program to run the pool and hopefully fill it out soon. As soon as it's filled out we can pick teams and get the show on the road, should be fun again. Last year it seemed to go quickly. I'm blaming the juiced baseball! Leave the damn equipment alone!

The one big rule change of facing a three batter minimum could increase the number of runs scored in a game if the pitcher sucks and make this thing go quickly again, but who knows. "The 2020 change will likely cause a decline in the number of specialists -- such as the "LOOGY" (lefty one-out guy) -- who are primarily brought in for certain matchups." Never knew they were called "LOOGY", but even if hocking one makes the game go a bit faster that would be good, 3 hours and 10 minutes average game time is insane.

Sorry for the short rant but who the hell cares anyway.

I agree with that wholeheartedly, Alexander Cartwright did not envision that and I think that adds to the specialization which contributes to the slowdown of play IMHO.

Who doesn't love watching a pitcher either stand and watch 3 strikes with the bat on his shoulder, or flail away like a 5 year old picking up a bat for the first time?

Always liked the 2-1 games when the pitcher hit a home run.
