Mini/Small Cabinet Humidors?

I was going togo that route but decided on getting a nice desk top 150 count. And setting up a coolidor for the boxes that i'm collecting as of late.

Wow those things are pretty huge. While they look 100 times better than a coolidor, I still think a coolidor paired with a nice desktop humi would serve you better. Mainly because the coolidor would hold your chosen RH almost effortlessly with a good humidification device, say 70% for aging, and the desktop would hold 2-3 each of every cigar you have in the coolidor at good smoking RH, say, 65%.

Of course if you already have a few 150qt coolers packed and need the big humi for your smoking stock, well, frankly sir, I am jealous. :D

I actually own two of the smaller Anteitams. They are fantastic. The construction is beautiful, the seal is excellent, and they each hold around 500 cigars...more if you stack boxes carefully. My one critique is this, the small cigar oasis that they sell with the cabinet (yes, I ordered from bargain humidors) is not quite sufficient once the cabinet is full of cigars. I would ask them if I could upgrade to the oasis plus. Other than that, I have been nothing but happy with mine. They are very nice pieces of furniture that my girlfriend doesn't even mind being in the living room of our home.

The larger of the two, the Manassas, is very nice as well. My local merchant ordered one for a customer recently. I unpacked the box for the merchant and set up the humidor on display. Very nice construction as well, but it is very large. It does not function well as an endtable. If you will have it in a den or something like that, it will do fine. The other thing is that the large one only comes in the bubinga finish, which is not to my taste.

All in all, both are great cabinets. I would upgrade to the cigar oasis II for the large one, though.

I have an Anteitam and love it. I just use beads and a little gel and it holds steady at about 60-63% It's stuffed and I've got about 400 sticks in there. Mostly bigger vitolas though so you might be able to get 500 in there.

Does the Anteitam look quality or cheap? Just wondering about the finish...

Looks great. Not cheap looking at all. Would make a very nice end table

Cool thats what I am looking for! End table or night stand.....(so I can reach over and grab a smoke) were my thoughts!

What would you all suggest for a humidor which can fit into a wine cellar. Does anyone make a humidor that is no more than bottle depth (13 inches), so it won't stick out annoyingly into the room?

Or would that not leave enough room inside to efficiently hold boxes?

Or is it just a bad idea to try and have the humidor in the wine cellar, since both require such a variance in temp and humidity? Or should that not matter since a decent humidor is going to be well sealed anyways?

Perhaps a humidor would be better placed in or at a bar? If you can't tell, I'm trying to figure out all the design elements necessary to go into the basement finish in our next house, which we're hoping to break ground on within the next year.

I know they make a combination humidor/winerack. Holds around 100-200 cigars in a humi on top with room for 15-20 bottles under. As for a cabinet humi that is only 13 inches deep, I think some of the display humis might not be deeper than that. The display humis will typically have a glass front. Most I have seen are small (typicall 150-300 range). Though I have seen at least one that was around 6' tall.

One example here.

There is a much larger one that is only 17 1/2 inches deep. cabinet

Hope this helps. You could always just break down and have one made. :D

IMO....THAT looks like a deal. Nice looking piece. If the finish is above average and the seal holds......that could be a great addition to any room.

Just go for this one:

You'll need it after you've been here awhile. Holds 228 bottles of wine and 2,500 cigars.

If I were you I would look at one of Bob Staebell's units:

http://www.aristocrathumidors.com/aristocrat-mplus.html

aristm-plus-1.jpg

*Dimensions-38"W x 17"D x 48" H
*Capacity 300 loose cigars, 60+ Boxes.
Retail Price-$2900.00
*Direct Wholesale Price-$1395.00 w/Digital "Set &Forget"
Average shipping cost-$125-160 in the continental US.

These are a step up from the Bargain Humidors unit and are cabinet grade, although you pay for the difference. No better in function other than the fact that they have a more sophisticated humidification and monitoring system.

He also makes taller units if you need more room.

If you are looking for one unit that does both then this one is a pretty good choice. If you just want a narrow storage humi then these are only 15" deep and these are the 13" you are looking for.

From experience, separate the two storage spaces for better environmental control. Also buy larger than what you think you need of both the humidor and wine cellar. I've maxed out my 480 bottle wine cellar and have almost maxed out my refrigerated cigar storage unit as well. Now I'm contemplating turning the livingroom into a wine "room" with a separate builtin humidor cabinet, all environmentally controlled of course.

Definitely check out Bob Staebell's humidors. WWW.AristocratHumidor.Com
He has a large selection, and will make anything to the dimensions your prescribe.
