Greetings from beautiful Merida, Mexico.

The temperature continues to climb here in the tropics. At this time of year, it’s not unusual for us to enjoy a long stretch of 100 degrees + for a week at a time. Now the rains have started and we are migrating to the shade of the courtyards to smoke our big cigars.

Big things going on here at Mercer. Stay tuned for details.

PS – Special thanks to Phil M. for a great cigar.

Was doing a little reading on another forum . . . this is you, right?

http://www.internationalcigarclub.com/foru...ead.php?t=13990

Yes...Drew is Drew.

Well, it appears sometimes Drew is Angie . . . :whistling:

You know what I mean by the post, Gary. I'm wondering why this vendor is allowed to post if he's known to buy stock from individuals and returns cigars as discussed in the thread?

Sure...it happened there....not here.

If someone is on the 'list...they are more apt to be banned.

Drew has shown nothing bad 'here'...so why take action.

Also remember 'caveat emptor'! ;)

Why take action? Well, I'm not asking that he be banned, but just wonder why this hasn't been brought to light here? I guess what I'm saying is "Hey vets, vet this guy!"

Gary, I don't think you agree that this community subscribes to the "caveat emptor" doctrine. You need only look to your posts in the box split thread to see that. I also don't think you are saying that if I want to engage in questionable practices, do it somewhere else so it doesn't affect me here. So . . . hey Gary (FOG), vet this guy!

This has been discussed before and does not pose a threat to this board or any of its members. I suggest you do a little more reading and attempt to understand a little more before you suggest our vendors are engaging in questionable practices.

Listen to Culebra Boy!

Will do, Jonesy! :)

Robbie, I have learned to use that search function and I apologize if this particular matter has been discussed. I did not find it. Anyway, if y'all say he's cool that's fine with me.

I would argue that bad vendor practices should be discussed on any cigar forum. Drew's response, after being confronted with the fact that he sent a box of cigars back to a client with a half-smoked cigar in it, didn't sit well with me or many other BOTLs.

Yea...they should...although on here we have the 'no sources' discussion issue.

We also are suppose to subscribe to dealings with CP...and not talk about other boards.

In this case, it seems to be a 'individual' matter. (If that makes sense)

Did a vendor mess up...or a person? Is the issue dead or resolved?

That's why I simply put it as.... 'caveat emptor'...until the matter(on another forum) is resolved.

BTW - it doesn't sit well with me either. :(

oh yea...nice lookin' out D-man!

I don't know the full story, reading up on ICC right now on breaks from work but I am inclined ceteris paribus to agree with Rob. Clearly what a vendor/member of this board does elsewhere affects their standing here. This is not new. Re: tmk multiple users on one account (as a business account, not a personal posting account) is no big deal. Plenty of our vendors have done that with employees. YBDMV

Does that work the other way as well?

Think about it. ;)

Regarding a vendor, I'd say yes.

The issue arising here is when a vendor interacts as a member (conducting personal trades with members at another board). Which appears to have happened over at ICC.

There's a reason why there's a scumbag list which doesn't specifically speak to any one boards' membership, but the internet cigar community as a whole.

But how you view the situation after the issue has been raised is, as Gary said, caveat emptor.
