Greetings from the tropics.
It is sunny and beautiful in Merida this week. There are wafts of tejano/salsa/mariachi/steel drum & rock music in the wind as bands and dancers make final preparations for their Carnaval jams. Carnaval comes early this year and folks in Merida, as well as in other cool cities around the globe, will be whipping out their whistles for the parades and bachnalia.
I'll be smoking Cohiba Maduro Magicos and drinking Guinness Draught at the Fat Tuesday party I'm attending, but otherwise, I'll be enjoying lots of 98 JL Patricias this week. The party starts this Wednesday and goes on until everyone gets tired. Of course, in the middle of the Carnaval festivities, we get to watch the Super Bowl.
The Superbowl Party preparations have been exhausting, but its all about to change. We are ready to watch the NY Giants rumble to victory while enjoying tons of chicken wings and Mercer Gumbo. Anejo tequila for the bar everytime the Giants score???
