I was just wondering if there are others on the board that have found themselves out of work in recent months? I have to admit that I've been in functional denial for the past several months...but I'm not going crazy...lol. Things have been a bit challenging though.

I got laid off Dec. 2nd
Dad passed away Dec 26th
15' ocean kayak that I had for 8 years was stolen ($1700) Jan 19th
I'm needing a 2nd hip replacement (1st 10 and a half years ago) and they tell me I have a bulging disc in my neck that's causing my shoulder pain.
Other medical issues I won't even get into, but everything is weighing heavy on my choices in regards to which field to return to. My background is electrical controls, service and customer service management. I'm also a NASM certified personal trainer, which gives me an alternate field to enter, but with the pain issues at the moment I'm having trouble with my own training.

Besides all that...I took up smoking again just before I got laid off. My smoking hasn't been that bad. A stick or two a day. But I've gone nuts with my buying, because I know that I won't be able to buy some of the cigars I have down the road. So I've been buying when there's deals to be found and made sure I had the humidors to store em all.

I've been sober five and a half years now...there's worse things I could be doing than smoking cigars (though I do see & understand the transference of one thing to another).
I just want to be able to find an Opus X at a decent price to add to my collection...I don't want the world...

Things will work out...they always do :D

Talk to OzPod. He was having a real bad run of luck and was looking for Opus, too. He can let you know how his search turned out.

I've been told that as of July 1 I will be out of work. I think the only thing worse than being laid off is being told that your position isn't important, but the company still wants you to come in and do your job for four months in order to get the severance.
