Where to get a marine cooler, I want the one with slots for shelves, I have looked around town to no avail. Also anyone know of any local shops that carry spanish cedar, like 84 lumber, lowes or home depot.

Thanks

Been my experience that most retailers don't carry spanish cedar. I went to lowes and picked up a thing of regular cedar for my first coolidor and had a terrible experience. My suggestion is to go to your local smoke shop and see if you can pick up used cigar boxes and use the Spanish cedar from them to either line your coolidor or create trays. You can also just use the boxes your cigars come with, It's what I do.

Shooter -

If you are looking at the new route, I picked up a 160 or so Qt. Igloo Cooler with the slots for shelves at Costco not too long ago, it was $70 I think. They stock them for the summer season, when I was there a week ago, they still had them up here.

I have also read on here that people buy spanish cedar at Woodcraft stores, there is one of those up here as well. Looks like there is one of those in L'ville at 1846 S Hurstbourne Pkwy, might be worth swinging by there. I think you will pay a little more, maybe others on here can comment, I know spanish cedar there was not cheap.

Cool I have and old blanket chest, that is a second option, I would just have to line it with cedar, or plexiglass, to make it air tight.

Well no costco in louisville, I might have to have you pick one up for me.....

I have bought some spanish cedar from that Woodcraft store on Hurstbourne....was a little pricey an they didn't have a lot, but you probably won't need a lot. I have also ordered from Rockler(www.rockler.com) and was satisfied with what I got. One of the boat dealers around may have a marine cooler but they are not cheap, Sam's has been known to carry some of the big coolers.

Bass Pro does. There are two other sports super stores in Denver and both have the 150qt Coleman on display.

If you can cut wood, Rocklers has the cedar in 1/8 and 1/4 inch thicknesses. However, you'll pay more for the cedar than for the chest. I'd advise just about anything for shelves and cigar boxes for enough cedar mass to buffer your RH.
