Hi guys,
I've only joined this forum about a month or so ago and I've really enjoyed reading everyone's opinions as well as trading with a couple of members. But the time has come for me to ask a question that will make you all laugh heartily at my expense.
Here's the situation. I bought these 3 CAO Palms Perfectos from CBid.com - which, by the way, is a wicked addictive site. Now these cigars come in individual coffin boxes. The reason I bought them is because I'd like to save them for some really special occasion, (a wedding, a bachelor party, a million dollars, you know, typical ****). So, basically at least 2or 3 years. My question is on aging these cigars. I don't want it to sound like the old cellophane on or off question, but it basically does come down to that.
Each cigar is (obviously) in its own cellophane. The cigar and cellophane are in a coffin box. Then, the coffin box is in its own cellophane. How do you guys recommend that I store these? In all the wrapping? Or without the wrapping in my humidor? I should mention that these won't really fit in my humidor inside the "coffins". Thanks
Ramy

Take them out of the coffins and put them in the corner out of sight. There no reason to keep them in the coffins if they don't fit your humi.

I'd have to agree... it makes more sense to have 'em in the humi than in the coffins. Just keep the coffins put away for when you plan to gift, pass or transport them. You can always put them back in the coffins when you get your next, larger humi. ;)

I have those and the Odyssey's and removed them from the coffins. The post telling you to save the coffins is good advise. If you do ever trade these the novelty of the coffin is a strong selling point. Most people will understand the lack of exterior wrapping as most people I know open everything they receive for inspection purposes.

IMHO, leave in coffin w/out cello.

I agree with R3 on this one! My Opus A smells great, and I don't think it'd smell the same if it wasn't in the coffin. ;)

KB, I'm positive you keep the coffin in your humi, though. I think you may have missed where he says the coffins won't fit into his humi.

Bottom line, Nookatee: if the coffins fit, place them in your humidor with the sticks inside (cello on or off is a personal choice). If the coffins don't fit, then remove the cigars from the coffins and place them directly in your humi. If you are removing the sticks from the coffins, I'd suggest leaving the cello on, but again, that is a personal choice. They will stay humidified either way.

Cool. Thanks a lot for the advice guys. I like watching you guys debate these topics back and forth a little so I can see all sides of it.

I'll keep them in the Humi for now wrapped in nothing more than their cellophane and hang onto the coffins for my next, larger humidor. ;)

Oh, I'm sorry... I was laughing at something SamClemmons said in another thread....

If you have a coolidor, I say you leave it in the coffin. If not, take it out - otherwise it'll take up a lot of space...

BTW - the CAO Palms is an OK cigar, but I guarantee if you hang around here long enough, you'll find some much better cigars to use for special occasions....
