Appearance: Overall this was a nice looking cigar. After being carried in the shoulder pocket of my ACU’s it held up well. The wrapper was in great shape, it had a nice creamy brown color and just a few small veins

Pre-Light: There was a nice mellow tobacco aroma with a light wood/nutshell smell. The pre-light draw confirmed these smells and seemed to be just a shade on the easy side.

Cut: I really wanted to use my Vector punch that was bombed to me, but I left it on my table back in my room, so I was forced to use some Iraqi crap double blade. It is pretty sharp, and I have used it with success before. This was not to be the case this time. It was dark, and I made the cut to short and off center, so I had to cut it twice. This was 100% my fault, but did seem to hurt anything.

1/3: She lit well and started on a good slow burn. Let me say here, that I really have no idea what I am doing, I have not smoked enough cigars to really start pulling out taste, but I will do my best. The first thing that jumps out is all the smoke. Not real think, but not wispy either. I could feel a slight spice on the tip on my tongue, like a bland red pepper. The after tast left me thinking of wood, or maybe a pecan shell. Something like “smooth” keeps coming to me.

2/3: At about the ½ way mark the spice has picked up, the other flavors are still there, kind of waiting for there turn it seems. The Ash drops at almost 2 inches; it is a nice white strong ash with good rings. It actually fell right after the pic of me in my gear. At the end of the 2/3 I am smoking way to fast and I can taste hints of the bitterness that I used to get when I would smoke my pipe to fast as well. So, I set it down and try to gather up the notes. I find a hint of coffee or cream, playing in my mouth as an after taste, it caught me off guard.

3/3: The spice has settled into the background, and the wood/shell flavor is the main point. The after taste continues to have the coffee & cream feeling. The ash has dropped again, both times I was standing and it held up as it hit the ground. It is starting to smoke hot again, and then it gets me, the last pull, the one-to-many puff. Its time to put her to bed.

I know this has turned into a novel, but I really was trying to post a good review. Overall I really liked this cigar, but then again I do not have a lot to compare it with.

Thanks
Tim

Nice review and nice pic's mate.
I wondered if these Cigars were any good. I will have to try one after reading this.
Cheers

Very nice review and pics  however I dont really like Mac's in Cafe version.
I think they have a metalic aftertaste and not good smoking taste at all.
You have to try Mac Maduro if you can, theyre much better ! :)

Good review, MX. Thanks for sharing your experience with this one. I've never tried a MAC before but I hear a lot of good things about them.

Nicely done. An admirable review, never mind it was your first.

I don't care much for the Cafe Macs. Too light but they are never harsh, and always perfectly made.

Wilkey

Smoking a cigar, at night, outside, in a combat zone somehow doesn't seem prudent. Hey, but what do I know. I was in the old Navy. Come home safe now, ya hear. Excellent review.

I don't mind the occasional Macadoodle. Very mild.

Oh, and what Doc said, especially about coming home safe.
