Looking for some tips on my Lotus T3. l'm having a heck of a time making this thing useful.

1. When you fill it, how many 5 second pushes with your bottle of lighter fluid do you use?
2. It doesn't seem to be very reliable. It acts like a vapor lock. Any tips on avoiding this?

I keep going back to this meansardine branded lighter (i think made by xikar).

I'm not trying to thread high jack, but I have the same problem with my Blazer Little Buddy. I know a bunch of guys here have one, but how in the hell do you get it fill with it turning into a sprinkler? I have Vector fluid and it comes with 5 tips, but only two are small enough to fit down into the bottom to fill it. Can anyone lend some knowledge on the subject?

PURGE PURGE PURGE!!!! Make sure before you do any filling that you depress the filling port and release any vapors that are in the fluid chamber. This alone solved 95% of my torch lighter problems.

Another great tip is to clean the jet nozzle with alcohol and a q-tip.

As for filling, I use 1 second bursts of fuel and just keep doing it until there is overspray coming out.

I have the T3 after you think you purged all the air out, purge it again. If that doesn't work push the butane on each tip. That worked for me, it literally took me 10min to purge the beast.

Another thing, just when you think you've purged all the air and remaining gas out, shake the crap out of the lighter, then purge it again.

I had given up on my T3. I was sitting unused on a shelf for months.

I read this thread, purged and purged for about 10 minutes, shook it, filled with 1 second bursts and it works!

Thank you very much previous posters.

On a side note, after filling make sure to let the lighter rest for several minutes to get the butane back up to room temperature.
