Hi All

I'm new to CP but have been smoking cigars for about 6 months or so.

My Boss decided that I needed a road trip ???

so I'll be in Los Angeles from April 10 - April 16.

I've heard that there are two cigar stores/lounges in downtown LA. Diplomat Cigars and Laplata Cigars.

Does anyone have any other recommendations for places to pickup/smoke some cigars?

a BOTL on another board and I have tentatively setup a mini Herf for Sunday, the 13th somewhere downtown if anyone would like to join us or can recommend any other spots.

Thanks!

Diplomat Cigars is a pretty nice place.
But a little pricey on the sticks.
Never heard of Laplata.
Where abouts in LA will you be?
The other socal BOTLs and I might help
recommend some B&Ms close to
where you will be staying. :D

Hi Jack

I'll be staying downtown in Little Tokyo at the Miyoko Hotel. Of course, my company is too cheap to spring for a car but there's always the bus system

At this time, I have all of Sunday off. I might have part of Saturday but that depends on how much work I get done on Friday night.

My friends own 2nd Street cigars...

Not sure if their prices are decent...but I don't think they are extravagant.

I gotta go by 2nd Street cigars some point soon.

Maybe we can meet up there.

Holy crap Derrick! Where have you been?
It's good to see you around here.

2nd St Cigars is O.K....Prices are way up there...Nice little place to smoke. The house cigar, La Plata Fuerte is a pretty good little smoke for the price. All the big name brands are pretty high. If you are up for it, Unio Station is down Alameda St and from there, you have a railway system that can get you anywhere.

For example Goldline takes you into Pasadena and there is a pretty nice cigar lounge Called Cigars by Chivas which is off of Green and Delancey. Good selection, prices are kind of high but not as bad as 2nd St.

Los Angeles is just damn expensive. There are a few places to smoke but they are limited. Rent a car, you will need it.

Hi All

Thanks for all the information. I really appreciate it.

Due to my schedule being a little flexible, I'm going to try and go by 2nd Street and maybe the Diplomat when I get in on Thursday to check them out.

I'd still like to meet up with anyone who is available to hang out on Sunday. If needed, I'll grab a train/bus and we could meet somewhere.

If something gets arranged I shall try to attend. I'll likely be in LA at the time :)

Hi Rod

Yep, I'm on the plane really early Thursday morning. the travel lady at the company needs some help!

So, I'll have Thursday afternoon to hang out as well as Sunday. I'm waiting for a reponse from someone on another board to see if he will be able to meet up on Sunday.

Did you have any suggestions on places to meet up?
