Looking for complex cigars.

I just finished smoking a Gurkha Regent robusto and while it was a good cigar it tasted the same from the moment I lighted it till I nubbed it. Nowhere was the following noticable...

Cigar Aficionado recently awarded the Class Regent a stunning 90 rating, equaling the infamous Opus X by Fuente and outscoring many other top brands: "This rich brown cigar burns evenly, with a fine draw. It's elegant and balanced, with black cherry flavors, notes of sweet spice and a long, leathery finish. Smooth."

No Cherry, No Spice, No Leather (not that is a bad thing lol) just strong good but boring tobacco flavor.

With my developing tastes I've noticed myself looking for cigars that offer more than one flavor while smoking it, otherwise I get bored with the cigar.

So I'm asking the BOTLs of CP to recommend complex tasting cigars to someone who is starting to finally notice the nuances of taste in the cigars he smokes.

*edit* Maybe I should of listed cigars I found to be complex already...

All the Padróns I've tried so far
Rocky Patel Sungrowns
Aston VSG
WOAN
Opus X xXx
CT Signature
Ghurka Legend
Ghurka G3 (taste changed about 3 times  )
PSD4 (still one of the best cigars I have smoked)

Just a few recent things which come to mind
ISOM: Trinidad, PSP2, Vegas Robaina
NC: Trinidad, Padron Anni, Joya de Nic Celebracion, Ashton VSG, LGC Ser R, Punch Rare Corojo

yes definetively Ashton VSG, PAMs hell smoke the Padron #000 series they're maybe not that complex but they aren't boring. I've heard much good about the trinidad robusto extra, PSD4 (forgot it already?), BBF, Diplo no 2.

Backwoods, Honey Berry, starts off like honey and changes to berry half way... even better then the bits of chocolate! LOL

Yeah I edited my OP to reflect some of the complex cigars I've had recently.

The Trinidad Reyes I had was pretty complex Wilkey, shame the darn thing was plugged and I had to fight for every bit of smoke, I'm getting more though, even with the plug I could tell it was a great cigar.

Try the Tatujaue Reserva SW 7 x 47
or the Tatjuaue Reserva J 21 5 x 50

both very excellent cigars.....the LG Oriental is also a lil bit complex in flavor and very good!

One of the most overlooked cigars in this class of smoking is the Punch Puro, very good flavor and a fairly strong smoke but in IMHO it is up there with some of the more complex smokes around.

Funny, I have a few of the Gurkha Regent Toro's, and I really get a black cherry taste to them. Everybodys different, and it does keep it interesting.

I second the Tinidads (both ISOM & N/C), nice and complex.

I've had a few Regent robustos and didn't care for them either. I definitely didn't taste black cherries. I love the Legend, Expedition, and Centurian, but never cared for the Regent.

Light up a Comacho Corojo.

Followed immediately by a Hoyo De Nic Antaño 1970.

From the cherry of the HDN, toast an El Rico Habano.

EVERYTHING will seem complex.

I 2nd the Anejo. I trip out on the complexity of these cigars everytime I smoke one. They get better with at least a yr on them.

Another fascinating cigar that I also trip out on is an aged Opus. I treasure every puff off of one of those.

Many of the ISOMs can offer a nice complexity to them, some have been mentioned. I'll mention one I had today that I found very good and complex eventhough it was from an '05 batch. An SLR Regio. I loved every inch of this cigar. It was the 3rd I have had out of this box and all 3 have been equally good.

The most complex Cameroon I have found is the Cuesta Rey Stanford's Cameroon Reserve which have just been released in limited quantities of boxes of 20.

Hope that helped.
