Looking for beads in surplus

Who has got a surplus of 70% beads and can sell me about 100 grams (3 1/2 oz)?

I figure that is all I need for my 40 count humi. I really don't have any expansion plans any time soon, so buying half a pound would be a waste of resources. And I really don't want to waste this precious stuff for the rest of you :p

PM or email me at arno1@REMOVEsbcglobal.net and remove REMOVE.

Thanks!

I have the large travel pouches in each of my coolerdors, and they do a great job of keeping those large volumes at 65%. Per Vern's advice, I simply put larger pieces of sponge in each bag. Don't have to remoisten for weeks at a time.

You might want to consider the small travel pouch for your 40 count, but I'd guess that one of the small tubes (there are several) would serve you better. If you go with the one that has 2 black end caps and a perforated tube, just make sure you don't leave it soaking for too long, as the beads swell and pop out of the holes. :(

Thanks for the link to the tubes.

I did the math:
1lb of beads is good for 5 cuft of humidor.

My humidor is .14 cuft, so I need less than 1/2 ounce!

The tube it is!!

Now, where do I get an answer to my question 65 or 70%?

My thinking is that, if the recommended range is 65 to 75% RH, 70 is a good median. Why go with the low end of the range?

Searching for the answer will yield probably 2.3 million posts. Which of those should I focus on? Anywhere you can point me would be appreciated.

You're a great bunch, I'm proud to be one of you now.

70% is a little too wet in my opinion.

I seem to get a much better burn at the 65% level.

I had a lot of burn issues until I switched to the 65% beads.

Most find that burn, draw and flavor are much better at 65%. Myself and many others around here prefer even a bit lower. The bulk of my humis are kept at a steady 63-65%. My on deck humis are kept at 60-62%. My experience tells me that most draw problems are do to a high RH.

A little research and Vern convinced me that 70% is the right RH for me, at least for now. I ordered a tube today from Vern, so I'm taken care of.

Thanks for the help and advice, I appreciate it.
