Ok, so here goes. I'm looking for a recommendation on a after matrimonial bliss type cigar, lol.

My best friend is getting married next friday in vegas, and I will be standing up in the wedding. I set my sights high at first (hoping for some CC), regulating it down to a herf situation at casa fuente (which I'm sure I cannot afford to fund, though I hope to bring something from there back with me), down to this.

Basically, I'm looking for a sort of mild smoke, nothing to big nor too small, something say smokable in the 30-45 minute range. I plan on bringing 20...my lord usc is making ohio state look silly, but I digress...I plan on bringing about 20 of these with me. I assume I will be bringing a good portion home, but I want to have the bases covered. I am severly price driven..but I also need something I can grab at the local B&M that isn't going to require a lot of resting time in the humidor.

Yes I know, I wait till the last minute, and I aim too high in my expectations of myself. I'm flawed, I know. Everything lately has nickel and dimed me to death...its depressing.

Anyways, any recommendation you could give is greatly appreciated.

People on here just recently turned me onto Chateau Fuente Sungrown's. The best 3.75 I've ever spent. They look regal, too...the cedar wrapping makes them look nice, IMO..

I actually just smoked a chateau sun grown tonight. It was a great smoke and very affordable. I will second Chads opinion.
 
If you can wait a week or so for delivery, I'd look at a ISOM Partagas Mille Fleurs. (And not only because they're a fave of mine). But you probably can't risk it.

For a less expensive (and considerably more legal) indulgence, Oliva Serie G Special G. Also the robusto and corona, but the Special G is a interestingly-shaped perfecto that makes for a nice quick smoke.

Otherwise, look for corona and petit corona vitolas, maybe rothschild.

JR is clearing out the CAO L'Anniversaire Cameroon Rothschild (also available in a half-inch longer as a robusto at twice the price. Get the rothschild.). Fits right in your price/flavor needs, CAOs are generally attractive and well constructed, too.

Since you don't indicate that you're buying for aficionados, concentrate on flavorful mild-med smokes. Something that goes well with a drink. And finally, last but not least, if you're bringing your own cigars to a bar rather than smoking theirs, tip the waitress really well.
 
I say you can't go wrong with a box of Padron 2000 maddies, tasty and easy for all level smokers. Good luck and congrats brother!
 
Fuente 858. I prefer Maduro. $4 a stick, and should be regularly available.

I think I am going with the sun growns, I look the look for the occasion, and it fits my price range and time (since I'm sure some will light and probably waste them). Would anyone recommmend the maduro or the natural?
 
I'm assuming you meant the Chateau Fuente Sungrown? The wrapper is sungrown, not natural or maduro.
 
Sorry yes, you are correct tom, trying to work, answer the phone, and post doesn't always work out well for me lol.
 
To tell you the truth, I just got married and I had ZERO time to smoke a cigar that night. We had a LONG reception and I still barely talked to everyone who attended. You might get one in before the wedding though. We almost had a HERF before the wedding, but I decided against it and went to Speed Zone instead (more fun for everyone).
 
I'm really just doing to for my friend. Make a toast...pass out cigars to whomever wants, and if they don't want to fire it up then and there, thats cool, really doesn't matter. Just trying to do a nice gesture.
 
Stop by casa for a smoke and a mojito.
After that leave immediately. Proceed to Ceasars and look for the Pussy Cat gambling area. (preferibly when they are gaming and dancing)
Sit at Bar (SEAHORSE LOUNGE) behind area and drink there. Much cheaper and you can get bottle service and some nice pitcher of assorted drinks.
Thats what some of us did while we were at the RTDA show. Had a nice turnout and smoked and drank lots.

And some great eye candy!@!!
 
*sigh* missed opportunity...

I was thinking Montecristo #5; quick smoke, tasty (with a nervous finish (wtf is that?)), and not too expensive either.

This is why a tubo is a good idea in this situation. He can save it until whenever he might feel like a smoke. :rolleyes:
 
Well, I ended up using alex's suggestion. Well almost. Went to Casa Fuente, had some excellent cigars and some excellent mojitos. Only 4 of us, but ended up blowing my budget on treats for all so sadly I didn't bring anything back with me other than a Casa Fuente cigar band.

But everything was excellent! And the waitress served quite well as eye candy when needed lol. Never made it past Casa because the other two had wives who were um...less than thrilled we were going out. I thought we had it worked out when my wife was going dress shopping and the other two wanted to go, but as we were catching a cab, they came back....bad timing!

A good time was had by all anyways! At least until the other two got back and had to run off to console the better halves. lol Well me and the groom to be had a good time lol!
