I'm very excited about these, this is the first new set of pads I've had since high school, hopefully the last set I'll need to order as well, there's alot of cigar opportunity cost in them! I had them custom made in size as well as color to match my old college colors.

Colorado College?? Did you play WCHA hockey?

I thought about playing D1 hockey, but didn't want to go play Junior A somewhere for 2-3 years in the hopes that I'd get recruited and actually get some icetime at a D1 school.

I played at Gustavus Adolphus College in MN, a D3 school in the MIAC. Although it's not the case anymore, most of the kids on the team were merely high school standouts and didn't play juniors or anything before coming there. It seems to be changing though, and alot of freshman hockey players these days, even at D3 schools, have played post high school to get their skills and size up to be able to compete at the college level.
