Being a BIG fan of the LFD Maduro #5, I wanted to try to get the same (or close) flavor profiles in a smaller vitola. As per my usual misdeed, I received them last night and decided no time is better than the present to fire one of these babies up.The pre light was just what I expected, excellent and really was what motivated me to smoke one last night. After toasting the foot and putting fire to it, I found the draw to be very tight. I gently squeezed the stick and found the head was plugged. I took out my trusty Xikar scissor cutter and punched the plug 4 or 5 times which indeed made it draw much better. The cigar burned hot, and from all of the indications it gave me, I attribute the negative comments to the cigar RH being too high. I did smoke the entire cigar and it did finish better than it started, but once again, my lack of patience created a less than favorable result. In a few weeks, after they acclimate to the conditions I enjoy, I will smoke one again and update this blog.

If any of you have smoked a well maintained Maduro #7, what did you think?

Edit......spelling

I look forward to your findings on letting them chill out for a bit!

Nice work Steve,

These are good cigars. Drop your rh a bit and you should notice a big difference. Nice review.

As promised, I am re opening this review. This weekend, I smoked the third cigar from the box. It was right on target. The humidity was at the level I prefer (around 66%). The entire cigar was flavorful, great smoke, burned evenly and got smoked to the nub. I am now officially happy I bought the box.
