Tuesday night I decided to try the new LFD Habano Corona. It started out with a tough draw which eventually gave way to a good draw. The first third was creamy but also had a metalic flavor- not a favorite of mine. The cigar was medium bodied. The second third still carried the matalic flavor though pretty muted. It definalt carried the typical spice known in all LFD's. The last third was by far the best. It expressed a lot of cream and a lot of cedar. All in all it was ok, but i would not recommend the corona. Mike, owner of Bethesda Tobacco agreed with me, but really backed the Double Corona, saying its draw was perfect.

I am hoping this get a little better with age, my first was good, second not so much so but not bad.

I, too, think the cigar is just okay. I wasn't a fan of the Salomon and since this cigar has the same wrapper, I think that is was did it for me. People have different views on how much flavor a cigar's wrapper imparts on a cigar. I tend to think it has quite an impact and since I don't care for this wrapper, that's why I am not crazy about the Salomon, the Habano Corona and the Habano Double Corona (even though the DC is a rewrapped Small Batch). The HCs and DCs I've smoked all smoked very well, I just prefer a different profile. I am a big fan of the oscuro wrapper Litto uses on other cigars.

The one I had tasted really well, although the humidity that night affected the burn about halfway through. I think it's time to revisit this cigar. Hmmmm.

Yup, just as I suspected. I liiiike it! :p Ended up getting a little light-headed from the strength, but what a way to end the night!
