I first became intrigued by this cigar from Moki's review, and then was gifted one by a great BOTL at The Outlaw. Thanks bud!

Ambiance: Patio - 8pm at night w/ a glass of Cielo, after a big light meal.

Prelight aroma: very nice, earthy.

Prelight draw: very good draw, tasty, seemed pleasant but a hint of sweetness

Construction: Very well made. I really like the pigtail at the end. The cellophane pushed it down and made it look like a button on the top of a cap. The cigar seems rather bumpy compared to other LFDs I have smoked. However, this seems to be a theme I am noticing in these smaller RG and longer cigars.

The Experience:
This cigar lit perfectly from the get go. It seemed to have quite a bit of peppery taste in the first few draws, and a hell of a lot of smoke. I'm suprised at how much smoke this little cigar puts out. After the first centimeter, the peppery bite subsided but is slightly noticeable and has been replaced with tastey tobacco and earthy/woody characteristics.

Halfway through the cigar the peppery taste is almost completely gone. I am doing a little studying while smoking this cigar, and due to my inattention have let it go out a couple of times. I didn't think I put it down that long. I'm guessing that because of it's small ring guage, the ash or cherry isn't very large so it needs to be smoked more consistently. The flavors have taken on more leathery and woody characteristics. The smoke is still very volumonous, when it is lit. ;) There is definitely a little bit of nicotine in this puppy; I am starting to feel it already (no I don't think it is the tequila). :)

Three-fourths through the cigar the peppery taste seems to have returned a little, I notice it on the back of my palate. I know what it is; the Cielo seems to be counteracting the peppery taste. If I drink a little before I smoke, there doesn't seem to be much pepper. It now has a more woodsy taste, deeper, fuller. I still am really enjoying this cigar and can feel a little nicotine buzz.

The last stretch seems to be charactarized by a somewhat bitter taste. I don't think I have had burnt Sencha before, but that is probably pretty darn close. It tastes somewhat tarry, very thick, but not unpleasant. The cigar seems to want to go out much more easily now, but I am determined to finish it.

Finish time: 10pm

I think I'll have to pick up some of these.

I just reviewed this guy about a week or so ago and loved it. One of the best 'gars I've had.

Thanks for the review, it's a great smoke.

I love this cigar...I was gifted a couple from Atuck...then I searched out the LFD rep to make sure he got some to my fovorite shop. Very, very good with age!!!!! This is by far the tastiest of all of the LFD Ligero line!! (But the hardest to come by)

Wait until ya see the new Lancero that Litto is coming out with. mmmmmm :)

Nice review, what wrapper was on the one you smoked?

I thought I had a line on some of these from one of my favorite B&Ms but that was a bust. The more reviews I see of this stick the more desperate my search becomes. I will find you Lancero I will find you...

I have one of these sitting in the humidor and just haven't made the opportunity to smoke it. Now my curiosity is peaked, thanks Cory.

I absolutely LOVE these cigars. I picked up several about six months ago down in Key West at the always wonderful Sunset Cigar. Picked up some of those and the Factory Press' as well by LFD. Between the two, I have to say, I prefer these babies, hands down. Just smoked one the other day and, at six months of aging in my humi....mmmmmmm. Can't wait to see how another will be in say another six months or so.

Oh .. do tell .. don't keep us hangin! Is it going to be a LG vs. an LFD?

No, it's the same blend as the LFD Lancero, but it uses the "oscuro natural" wrapper instead of the Ecuadorian Sumtran wrapper. This Oscuro Natural wrapper is what Litto used on the Limitado II as well as the Churchill Especiales Oscuro Naturals.

Great review, Cory! One of these days I'm going to find the time to light up a specimen.

I swear, if I could smoke in my basement while working, I'd be putting up reviews every few days.

Thanks to Nate, I now have both the Double Ligero and the Factory Press to try. I already had the Factory Press in maduro. I'm just waiting for the right time, maybe the Colorado HERF!
