Is there a cigar with a longer name? Purchased this cigar in May of last year. I wanted to start off the celebration of my wedding anniversary today with something a little different then the usual Fuente, Padron, Padilla smokes I've ben smoking of late. Maybe I should have waited till later because as soon as I pulled the cigar from the cello and took a pleasant wiff I knew I was in for something strong. At least I was smart enough to eat a big lunch first.
Managed to snap one pick before the camera battery died:
Very unique and interesting looking cigar with the pigtail and the very prominent looking light colored viens but I'm still unsure if I like the look. Snipped off the tail and with the a few pre-light draws I could already taste some spiciness. Torched it up and had a good draw from the start and with the first draw I got a huge mouthful of spice and pepper.
I got a little worried since I had smoked only one of these before when I first got it and that taste lasted the entire cigar which I found to be a little overpowering for me. But, after the first inch or so the cigar mellowed out with the pepper taste subsiding and just left with a pleasant spicy/woodsy flavor. The cigar burned flawlessly, no uneveness or relights necessary and every draw produced nice pillows of white/gray smoke. The flavor remained pretty consistent the rest of the way and didn't notice many complex flavors so it wasn't very dimensional which was fine as I was really enjoying the smooth spicy flavor. Took me about 1 1/4 hrs. to finish down to the nub.
This was one strong cigar and I'm hoping with a little more age they get even better. I'd give it an excellent rating.
