Well damn. I left the Humidor top open over night. The humidity was creeping up a bit too high last night so I wanted to open the top for a few mins to lower the humidity. I got caught up in something and forgot to close it. So it sat about 8hrs open. I guess the good thing is that it was foggy here last night and when I got up paniced the humidifier (digital) read 60 percent. What do you guys think?
I have a lot of stogies in there.

Considering I keep mine at 65 or so, 8 hours at 60 is no biggie. Try smoking one to see.

No problem at all. I would guess that a majority of cigar smokers have done that at least once in their lives :p

Of course if you are concerned that your cigars are now spoiled, you may send them to me and I will dispose of them free of charge ;)

You should be fine, keep mine around 60-62 and they smoke fine.

of course, if you are not sure, I'd be glas to extend cc's offer as well

I don't know...all kinds of little invisible creatures have crept into your box...I think you should start over...empty that humi out....wipe it out real good with distilled water....changing the paper towel frequently. This will help recharge the humi... make sure the humidity level is right before putting NEW cigars back into it.

Take your old cigars and pack them into a large Ziploc bag, use as many as necessary. Put them into a large shipping container and ship it directly to CC who will distribute...no I mean dispose of them properly.

This must be done to insure you've cured yourself of dumbitis so you will not leave it open again.

CC: before opening the box please make sure you have surgical gloves when handling those garz....Please determine the condition of the patients...

Administer mouth to mouth resuscitation as necessary...Be sure to raise the temp on one end to ensure proper flow. Continue doing this until there is no sign of any varmints which may have lodged themselves to the patients.

We must do this in an expeditious manner. If for some unforeseen reason you cannot complete this procedure in a timely fashion, recruit assistance from the board.

With my busy schedule I'll give up a few nights to help with this (Nothing like helping a fellow BOTL out). I'll PM my address to CC.

Better yet, without putting any undo burden on CC, maybe Mr. Gone should make several packages up and mail them directly to all the volunteers.

We have to act fast before this spreads....any volunteers?
