Las Vegas Golf Herf

So I am going to put this out there. I have all the golf juice, I think I can put together a nice deal at a hotel, and I am pretty sure I have an amenable B&M to have a little food, fun, and smokes.

I have been inspired by the other great get togethers the members here have put on, and I think we can put together a great golf themed weekend etc.

At this time there are no dates yet I am just looking to see if there is interest or not.

In my head it goes something like this, Thursday-Friday arrive in Las Vegas. Friday night a 9-hole pairings tourney. This would determine the handicap and pairing for the rest of the weekend, cause nobody ever fudges their handicap :whistling: . Friday night a cigar friendly dinner and HERF. Saturday 18 holes, with a throw down HERF at a local B&M including dinner of some type.

Tournament entry would be a predetermined group of sticks to be awarded to the first couple/three spots for the weekend.
Depending on interest we could have an 18 hole finish on Sunday or allow a free day for usual Las Vegas festivities. All three rounds could be played on different courses for a great slice of Vegas golf. Pun intended!

Prices for golf would be very reasonable compared to a regular tourist booking a round of golf, and will be determined greatly by the time of year we pull this off. A late summer HERf would be hot but cheap. A mid fall date would assure good weather but be a bit more expensive.

What say you CP??

No matter what it costs, nor how much you suck, golf will be infinitely cheaper. Besides if Jon comes I know we can get him to shave his legs and bring the pink donut, it don't get much closer to the Spearmint Rhino than that ???

I will be out there July 14 - 18. The 16th is out but maybe the other days could work. Of course, it will be hotter than Satan's balls on those days!

Man I would love to do this! I just planned a huge golf tournament weekend in August with 20 guys I play tennis with. We are hitting up the RTL Trail at Grand National in Opelika, AL for three days of Ryder Cup format.

Having a 7 month old and a golf habit does not go over well with the wife but I will ask and beg and try and get in on this too!

So we have had a few replies, but I am hoping for more. From the sound of things we have a bunch of golfers here but we all suck. We just had a tourny that used an unusual pay out system. It would work great for this event. Now the goal here is to keep this low key, I don't want the good golfers or the bad golfers taking this too seriously, it is just to have fun. If a few good cigars get taken home due to this, all the better then.

I think we pay 1st Place, and.........the bottom 3 players. It is a great way to keep things fun and give all skill levels a chance to win a little something. Depending on the numbers we get we could also have a 2 man scramble. That way even un-skilled or new players would have a fighting chance. There is also a 18 hole putting course nearby. Think putt putt golf on real grass with bunkers and water instead of clowns and windmills. This would be a cool event for the non-golfers or family members.

The take home message is if this sounds fun, get in on it. We will put together an event fun for everyone, at some beautiful courses!

What about 1st and 2nd, and then the bottom two? Make it a bit more even.

I played the Legacy when I was there a few years back. Once we firm up the dates a bit I will see if I can make it. If it's between the 12th and 16th I will be in town!

This sounds like a lot of fun. I will be in town in about 3 weeks, again in Sept and again in Dec with maybe one more trip in between if the tables are kind to me. I'll keep an eye out to see what date you land on. My game is totally in the tank right now.
