The annual LOL Herf is just around the corner. Everyone is invited and we hope everyone can make it. Lots of great activities and a weekend filled with good times and good friends. Like always, a live auction and a raffle. This year however we've added a few things to the mix, mainly a larger facility with a full bar and lots more room. With the larger venue, we'll be able to hold a silent auction and will also provide space for sponsors to set up a table display, if they want to. The cigar roller will be back again this year too. Check out the website for other details, or drop me a PM. Hope to see you all in October!!
 
I will be there again. Can't wait. To anyone thinking about going...do it. This is a great event with a ton of people.

What an awesome event, and i'm bringing some cash this year for a Cuban Dunhill. I also need a 6ft tall humidor,if you can find one to auction off Matt. :laugh:
 
Unfortunately we will not have a cabinet humidor to auction off this year. Matt at Avallo apparently didn't have a good enough year to donate this year. :(

A few things to add....

We will be having an auction, silent auction, raffle and the infamous dowrah auction. Some really great items have been coming in. I think everyone will be impressed.

Friday night will be a fish fry. Along with the fish we'll have taters, slaw and desserts. All free to attendees. Free soda, but cash bar w/ $1.00 drafts. I am working on getting Sam Adams, but it may just be the regulars, Lite and Bud Light. Oh adn I here there will be a few door prizes offered up on Friday night.

Saturday will begin at noon. The auctions. etc. will be on Saturday. Pizzas will be provided for lunch/snack at around 2:00 or so. I think there'll be chips and salsa around too. Dinner is on your own, but I am working on getting something set up with a pizza/Italian place that is right across the railroad tracks. There is also a Mexican place right across the tracks too. If you're slumming there's a Subway next to the Mexican place. LOL! Same bar set up as Friday night. My wife will have her wine business set up for tastings and sales though too. So, if your into wine, it'll be a neat thing to try out. The herf is done at midnite.

hale and I closed down a cple bars last year . As one closed we moved on to the next! Very interesting night! We almost got GGIESE and his SOn in law to stay out with us the entire night!! :D

The Land of Lincoln crew have a special announcement for everyone attending LOLH VI.

The city of Springfield will be non-smoking effective September 17, 2006. We have found a new location for the pre-herf and herf.

Both events will be held at the Sherman Athletic Club in Sherman IL. Sherman is approximately 10 minutes north of Springfield, close to I-55.

Maps are located in the 'Dates' section.

We need to give Matt a big thank you for getting this set up as he is a member of the club.

We will have a few minor changes, but all to our benefit. Everyone will notice is how big the new place is. More than triple the space as Andiamos! We will have tables set up for silent auction items for the first time.

Everything else should be about the same including fish at the pre-herf!
