Hi all,

Could not find anything about Labelling cigars for identification and aging.
I see a lot of pictures of humidors and I see that on some cigars theres labelling like white papers.
What do you do for identification and keep record of when you got the cigars?

Let me know

If I'm getting a box of something, I put the receipt in the box... more than one box, ask them to print out more than one receipt. As for singles, 5ers, etc. those I hope they come with a band that says the year, like GOF 2005 lol

Every now and then there's a group by on here where one person orders like 1,000 of them, and people buy in. Can't remember when the last was though... search and you shall find it. I think it mentions blank cigar bands in the title lol.
As for needing them... eh... I haven't found a NEED yet... but they might be nice to have around for things like Johnny-Os, things that lost bands in transit (wink), or custom rolled stuff, etc.

I use THIS with the DK 1204 labels and then but them on boxes directly and on blank bands for individual sticks. Worth the $65 or so IMO.

I just write the date on the bottom of a box or on the bottom flap of the cello.

As we discussed before, I'm still using this for labeling.
I had used Cigar Register to keep track my inventory with fairly good success, however, it doesn't support Vista 64bit. So since I moved to my new system, I've been trying to decide about what to move to next, it doesn't appear that Cigar Register is going to be updated.

If I buy a box, I place the receipt in the box. If I don't have the receipt, I put the information on a post it note and stick it inside. If I'm buying singles and if the cigar has cello on it, I'll write the date on the cello. If the cigar doesn't have cello, I have some blank cigar band in which I'll use to write the info on.

I grabbed a label maker that prints thin strips and dated it and put it on some single cigars with cello on them. There are various ones, just be sure to get one that has an adhesive that doesn't smell. I've had it on some for about 6 weeks now and havn't noticed any impact so I think I'm good to go.
