Have you ever had a cigar that you really want to like? I tried my third one of these cigars from the current production and the jury is still out.
This has got to be one of the ugliest cigars I have ever seen, thick veins, hard and rolled crooked. But I do like the way these look ... homegrown. I decided to try another one of these after a very dissapointing first try about 1 1/2 months ago. I was grilling a pre-Thanksgiving turkey so I had plenty of time to sit and enjoy and evaluate this smoke again. Pre-draw was fairly easy but not free flowing, there was a little bit of resistance. This is where my concern was since this is the problem I had with my last experiance with this cigar. It lit easily and had a good taste, not quite that complex but still a full bodied taste and I was getting decent smoke. Then it happened again ... damn .... puff, puff, puff, and all I'm rewarded with is a measly amount of smoke in my mouth. It wasn't totaly plugged, there was some draw and the tip was glowing red with a lot of smoke rising from the foot but little getting to my mouth. I wrote the last one off to being too fresh and maybe too wet but this one sat in a 65% humidor for 2 month's.
I dropped one of these in the PTB Pass so hopefully whoever smokes it will give their review. I'll let the rest of these sit for at least another 2 months before trying it again but as for now the jury is still out on my take on this cigar.
