Gifted by Wilkey at the recent NYC herf. Nice tasty looking lancero. Pre-light draw was promising sweet and tasty. More importantly, the spongy feel reminds me of a good tootsie-roll--definetely good to eat/chew--but I was able to resist myself ;)

Initial puffs were explosively spicy--worthy of me noting to self--this SOB has muskle! :)

After the first quarter the the cigar settled down to smooth-chocolaty taste, with hints of sweetness and when you least expect it, you get surprise pockets of spiciness.

IMHO this is a tasty full body smoke that is special and gladly I had something in my stomach because this would have sent me into nicotine buzz heaven for sure.

THANK YOU Wilkey for sharing this cigar!!!!

An enjoyable smoke from start to finish. I walk of JR with a nice buzz and feeling groovy  :whistling: :D

Ah...Joe you've savored one of my favorite lanceros. The LFD double-ligero is a fantastic smoke. Great roll, construction, smoke volume, ring gauge, wrapper... the whole thing is awesome. I always like the taste of these suckers and the last one I had hit me with a pretty healthy buzz.

Thanks for the review... good to hear you enjoyed it!

One of my favorite smokes ever! Glad you enjoyed it

Nice review Joe, I'll have to try the one that Wilkey passed on to me.

Anthony,

let me know what food and beverage did you decide to pair this bad boy with :)

Merry Christmas!

Joe

Joe,

Glad to hear that you enjoyed. This was the Lancero made with the new Oscuro Natural wrapper. It's noticeably darker and more mottled looking that the lanceros with the natural wrapper and some have reported that it is not quite as harsh.

Your experience jives with other folks initial impressions as well. I'm also pleased that you did not have any draw issues as these did arrive pretty moist.

I've got a few of the naturals set aside so once finals season is over, I sense a comparative review coming up. :whistling: :D

I'll have to try the lancero! I like the LFD Double Ligero blend.

i echo the opinions above, these are some of my favorite size smokes, and the oscuro natual is probably the best i have ever had.

I love the LFD DL's. I am actually out of the DL dark natural Chisel's, but in my aging humi I have 4 DL Maduro Chisel's.

Oooh you had the Oscuro natural...is anybody else going to have these besides the one guy who managed to have Litto make him a batch?

I got a hold of some of the natural-wrapped LFD Lanceros at A Little Taste of Cuba in Princeton, a really nice smoke.

Nice review Joe!

It will be interesting to try one of these in a few years. Right now I find them more powerful than flavorful. The flavors underneath the strength have some potential though. :)
